NOTE: The recirculation control motor, the power transistor, the blower motor high relay and the blower motor can be replaced without removing the blower unit. Before reassembly, make sure that the recirculation control doors and linkage move smoothly without binding. After reassembly, make sure the recirculation control motor runs smoothly. Make sure that there is no air leakage.

Special Tools Required KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 * * Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program. NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components. Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts. 1. Detach the clips (A, B), and release the hooks (C) by pulling the center console trim (D) from both sides. 2. Open the console box lid (A) then remove the console mat (B) and screws (C, D). 3. Slide the rear section of the center console (A) rearward to release the hooks (B). 4. Lift up the rear of the console (A). Release the harness retainer clip (B) from the air duct, and disconnect the console accessory power socket connector (C), the light bulb socket connector (D), and the AUX connector (E), then remove the rear section of the center console. 5. Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Push the clips into place securely. Make sure the console accessory power socket connector and the AUX connector are plugged in properly, and the light bulb socket is connected securely.

Special Tools Required Trim pad remover. Snap-on A 177Aor equivalent, commercially available KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. 1. Remove the inner handle (A). Take care not to scratch the door panel. 1. Pry out on the bottom portion of the cover (B) to release the clip (C) and tabs (D), then remove the cover. 2. Remove the screws. 3. Pull the inner handle out to release the hook (E). 4. Pull the inner handle forward and out half-way to release the hook (F). 5. Disconnect the inner handle cable (G) and power door lock switch connector (H). 2. Lower the glass fully. 3. Remove the screws from the armrest portion and inner handle opening. 4. Remove the switch panel (A). Take care not to scratch the door panel. 1. Pry out the front portion of the panel to release the clips. 2. Release the hooks (B) by pulling the panel forward. 3. Disconnect the power window switch connector (C).

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF , and wait for ten seconds . Then connect the SCS short connector to the service check connector (2P). If you don’t wait ten seconds , the SRS unit won’t be completely reset or output DTCs. 2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II). The SRS indicator light comes on for about six seconds , and then goes off. Then it will indicate the DTC. Including the most recent problem, up to three different malfunctions can be indicated (see example 1 in fig). In case of a continuous failure, the DTC will be indicated repeatedly (see example 1 in fig). In case of an intermittent failure, the SRS indicator light will indicate the DTC one time, then it will stay on (see example 2 in fig). If both a continuous and an intermittent failure occur, both DTCs will be indicated as continuous failures. When the system is normal (no DTC), the SRS indicator light will stay on (see example 3 in fig). If the SRS indicator light comes on continuously without any DTCs, there may be a problem in the light circuit.

2000-01 GENERAL SERVICING Compressor Servicing Due to the variety of clutch and shaft seal configurations, obtain appropriate A/C compressor service tools for compressor being serviced. Compressor servicing procedures for some compressors may not be available from vehicle manufacturers. CALSONIC Subaru recommends replacing compressor as an assembly if there is a clutch or compressor shaft seal failure. CLUTCH COIL Removal 1) Using Clutch Disc Wrench (J-41260), remove clutch plate bolt. Using Clutch Disc Puller (J-38874), remove clutch plate. Insert clutch disc puller pins into clutch disc holes. Rotate holder clockwise to lock it into clutch disc. Tighten clutch disc puller center bolt and remove clutch disc plate and shims. Remove pulley assembly snap ring. See Fig. 1. 2) Using a 2-jaw puller, remove pulley assembly. Position puller jaws onto edge of pulley to prevent pulley groove from being deformed. Remove clutch coil harness clip, clutch coil snap ring, and clutch coil.
