Audi S6 Avant 2002-2004, Audi RS6 2003-2004 – 4.2 Liter V8 5V Engine Mechanical,
Secondary air system The secondary air system is designed to enable catalytic converter to heat up and reach its operating temperature more quickly after a cold start. Principle of operation
Due to extra mixture enrichment during cold-start phase, an increased amount of unburnt hydrocarbons is carried in exhaust gas. The secondary air system improves the afterburning(oxidation) process in the catalytic converter, and in this way reduces toxic emissions. Heat generated by oxidation accelerates “light off” of catalytic converter and significantly improves
exhaust gas quality during warm-up

Engines
Petrol FSI® direct-injection technology is a unique Audi innovation that was originally developed for the Le Mans 24-hour endurance
race to deliver more power and torque, as well as enhanced fuel efficiency. Precisely the right amount of fuel and air are injected into the combustion chambers, enabling the engine to ‘breathe’ more easily. It results in reduced heat loss and increased
output, with around a 15% reduction in fuel consumption and significantly lower exhaust emissions. We’ve also developed TFSI®, with either turbocharging or supercharging, which combines FSI® technology with forced induction – giving cars an
extra injection of power.
Diesel
We introduced TDI® to the roads in 1989, marking a departure from the noisy, fuel-thirsty diesel engines of the past. And since
then, we’ve continuously refined it, recently developing common- rail technology. Under this system, a series of piezo injectors use
electrical charge to precisely control the amount of fuel injected into the engine. As well as reducing noise, this allows combustion to happen at a lower temperature, with less oxygen, which cuts down emissions

Audi presents a modern-day classic – the A4 and S4 Cabriolet. The classic soft-top convertible traits are evident at first glance: the open-top four- seater has Audi’s single-frame grille that typifies the brand. The car’s taut styling, clear surfaces and tension-packed shoulder line extending along the entire body are characteristic features of the A4/S4 Cabriolet. The car’s technology lives up to the promise made by its styling. The A4 Cabriolet is available with two engines that offer the latest in fuel-injection technology – Audi’s FSI. FSI direct-injection represents the most advanced state-of-the-art technology for gasoline engines. The sporty yet comfortable dynamic suspension converts the power delivered by these units into sheer driving pleasure – on every bend, on every mile of the journey
