Circuit Description The inflatable restraint steering wheel module deployment loop consists of a steering wheel module, steering wheel module coil, steering wheel module high control, and steering wheel module low control circuits. Shorting bars are used on the steering wheel module connector as well as the steering wheel module coil connector which will short together the steering wheel module high and steering wheel module low control circuits when the connector is disconnected. This will help to prevent unwanted deployment of the inflator module during servicing. When the ignition is turned ON, the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) performs continuous diagnostic tests on the deployment loops to check for proper circuit continuity and for shorts to ground or voltage. If a malfunction is detected, a DTC will be stored in memory. DTC Descriptors This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs: • DTC B0022 Driver Frontal Deployment Loop Resistance Low • DTC B0024 Driver Frontal Deployment Loop Voltage Out of Range • DTC B0026 Driver Frontal Deployment Loop Open Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition 1 voltage is within the normal operating voltage range. Conditions for Setting the DTC • DTC B0022 will set when the steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is less than 1.3 ohms for 500 milliseconds. • DTC B0024 will set when one of the following conditions occurs: – The SDM detects the voltage at steering wheel module high control is shorted to ground or voltage for 500 milliseconds. – The SDM detects the voltage at steering wheel module high control is less than 2.4 volts and steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is less than 6 ohms for 500 milliseconds. • DTC B0026 will set when one of the following conditions occurs: – The SDM detects the steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is greater than 4.8 ohms for 500 milliseconds. – The SDM detects the voltage at steering wheel module high control is less than 2.4 volts and steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is 6 ohms or greater for 500 milliseconds. Action Taken When the DTC Sets The SDM commands the AIR BAG indicator ON via class 2 serial data.

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Install the spring retainers to the synchronizer hub. Align the scribe marks previously made on the synchronizer hub and the synchronizer sleeve. Install the synchronizer hub to the synchronizer sleeve with the three struts. Install the main drive synchronizer stop ring to the synchronizer sleeve. Install the drive sprocket to the mainshaft. 6. Install the synchronizer assembly to the mainshaft. 7. Install the synchronizer snap ring to the mainshaft. 8. Use a soft faced hammer in order to install the following components into the annulus gear: • The input gear • The planetary assembly 9. Install the snap ring to the input bearing. 10. Apply RTV GM P/N 12345739 or equivalent to the input shaft bearing retainer mating surfaces. 11. Apply threadlocker GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent to the input shaft bearing retainer bolts. 12. Install the input shaft bearing retainer and the input bearing retainer bolts to the front case half. Tighten Tighten the input bearing retainer bolts to 19 N·m (14 lb ft). Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. 13. Install the three bolts that secure the encoder motor to the front case. Tighten Tighten the input bearing retainer bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft). 14. Install the range shift hub into the front case half. 15. Install the front output shaft to the front case half. 16. Install the driven sprocket to the chain. Important: The following components are installed into the front case half as an assembly: • The mainshaft assembly • The driven sprocket • The drive chain 17. 18. 19. 20. Install the drive chain onto the drive sprocket located on the mainshaft. Install the driven gear snap ring to the front output shaft. Install the mode shift fork onto the shift rail. Install the mode shift fork assembly through the range shift fork, onto the synchronizer sleeve, and into the front case half. 21. Install the mode fork shift spring to the shift rail. 22. Install the following components into the rear case half: • The oil pump pickup tube. • The oil tube connector • The pump pickup screen

Subject: Models: EI10035 — Engineering Information –Front Suspension Noise, Clunk, Popping, Rattle 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Condition Important: If the customer did not bring their vehicle in for this concern, DO NOT proceed with this PI. Some customers may comment on a noise coming from the front suspension. Description of the noise can include suspension clunk, popping or rattle. Upon further inspection, the noise can be generally traced to the front strut assembly. Strut assembly components, including struts and top mounts, returned under warranty have been tested with no trouble found. Cause GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the condition above. Engineering has a need to gather information on vehicles PRIOR to repair that may exhibit this condition. As a result, this information will be used to “root cause” the customer’s concern and develop/validate a field fix.

Circuit Description The auxiliary brake system provides hydraulic fluid flow within the brake booster if the engine is OFF and the brake is applied. The system consists of the following 3 basic components: • The power brake booster pump motor relay • The power brake booster fluid flow switch • The power brake booster pump motor The multifunction alarm module (MFAM) performs a 4 second bulb check on the AUX BRAKE indicator immediately after the engine is cranked or started. The MFAM illuminates the indicator by supplying voltage to the lamp. During the bulb check, the MFAM also performs a diagnostic which tests the power brake booster pump motor relay, the power brake booster fluid flow switch and the power brake booster pump circuitry for electrical faults. The AUX BRAKE indicator remains illuminated if the MFAM detects an electrical fault in the system. The MFAM also sounds an audible warning when the AUX BRAKE indicator illuminates. Test Description The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table. 3. This step tests if the multifunction alarm module is supplying voltage to the brake warning indicator supply voltage 2 circuit. 5. This step tests for a 12 volt signal from the MFAM. 7. This step tests if the MFAM is capable of supplying ground to the brake booster fluid flow switch signal circuit. Schematic Reference: Brake Warning System Schematics Did you review the Hydraulic Brake System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections? 1 Crank or start the engine while observing the AUX BRAKE indicator. 2 Does the AUX BRAKE indicator illuminate for 4 seconds and then turn OFF and remain OFF? 1. Turn OFF the ignition. 2. Disconnect the MFAM harness connector. 3. Turn ON the ignition. 3 Does the AUX indicator illuminate? 4 1. Turn OFF the ignition. 2. Reconnect the MFAM harness connector. 3. Apply the brake. Does the power brake booster pump motor run when the brake is applied? 5 1. Disconnect the harness connector of the power brake booster pump motor relay, which is located in the Maxi- Fuse center. 2. Connect a test lamp between the brake switch signal circuit and a good ground. 3. Crank or start the engine. Does the test lamp illuminate for 4 seconds and then turn OFF?
