Driver Side 1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. If the airbag has not been deployed, wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before further service. Driver Side Airbag Module Remove/Install 2. From the underside of the steering wheel, remove the two screws that secure the driver side airbag module to the steering wheel. 3. Pull the airbag module away from the steering wheel far enough to access the wire harness connectors on the back of the airbag module. 4. Unplug the airbag module and horn switch wire harness connectors from the back of the airbag module. 5. Remove the driver side airbag module from the steering wheel. 6. If the airbag has been deployed, the clockspring must be replaced. See Clockspring in the Replacement for the procedures. 7. When installing the airbag module, connect the clockspring wire harness connector to the module by pressing straight in on the connector. Be certain that the connector is fully engaged by observing the latch arms on each side of the connector. When these arms move outward from the connector, the connector is latched. 8. Connect the horn switch wire harness connectors. 9. Install the airbag module in the steering wheel. Tighten the mounting screws to 10.2 N.m (90 in. lbs.) . 10. Do not connect the battery negative cable at this time. See Airbag System in the Diagnosis and Testing for the proper procedures. Passenger Side The following procedure is for replacement of a faulty or damaged passenger side airbag module. If the passenger side airbag module has been deployed, the instrument panel assembly must be replaced. The instrument panel assembly includes a passenger side airbag and airbag door. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove multifunction switch. See MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check continuity between appropriate multifunction switch terminals with switch in specified position. See appropriate MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH TURN SIGNAL TESTING table. See Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 . If continuity is not as specified, replace multifunction switch. SUBJECT: Front HVAC Blower Motor Resistor Connector Service MODELS: 1996 – 1997 (NS) Town & Country/Caravan/Voyager 1996 – 1997 (GS) Chrysler Voyager (International Market) SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The front Heater/Ventilation/Air Conditioning (HVAC) blower motor is inoperative; is inoperative on one or more speeds; or operates only on “HIGH” speed. DIAGNOSIS: Visually inspect the front HVAC blower motor resistor and connector terminals for corrosion. If corrosion is discovered, perform the Repair Procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE: This bulletin involves replacing the blower motor resistor and wiring connector with revised parts. 1. If equipped, remove the bracket on the A/C line from the right side strut tower mounting stud. 2. Obtain the revised front blower motor resistor, p/n 04677180AB, (and wiring repair components if they will be required). Examine the integral retainer clips of the resistor so it is understood what/where to push in on to release the resistor from the dash panel. NOTE : DO NOT TRY TO PULL THE RESISTOR OUT OF THE DASH PANEL WITHOUT RELEASING THE CLIPS, OTHERWISE RETENTION TABS IN THE DASH PANEL WILL BE BENT MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THE RESISTOR FROM THE CAVITY IN THE DASH PANEL.

SUBJECT: Cummins 6.7L Diesel Turbocharger – Necessary System Inspections And Tests OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves the inspection and/or test of the Diesel Turbocharger and related emissions system components. The customer may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Additional diagnosis may reveal that the MIL is due to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC): P2262 – Turbocharger Boost Pressure Not Detected – Mechanical. DIAGNOSIS: 1. Connect the StarSCAN® to the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC). 2. Set the parking brake. Start the vehicle engine. 3. From the “Home” screen on the StarSCAN® select: a. “ECU View” button. b. “PCM Powertrain Control Module” button. c. “View DTC’s” button. 4. Record all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s) that are present in the PCM. NOTE: It is IMPORTANT to record (capture) all DTC’s present in the PCM prior to proceeding further with this diagnosis. Procedures later may cause all DTC’s to be erased. 5. Is DTC P1451, P2463, or P242F present in the PCM? a. If YES >>> STOP. Refer to Service Bulletin (SB) 11-002-07 (or later bulletin) to address this concern and before proceeding further with this Service Bulletin. In addition to other repairs, SB 11-002-07 may direct the technician to perform a thorough cleaning of Engine and Exhaust Aftertreatment System components. Contact STAR if additional assistance is required. Proceed to the next step ONLY after SB 11-002-07 has been reviewed and/or performed. b. If NO >>> then proceed to the next step. 6. Verify that the PCM is at the latest application software level. 7. Is the PCM at the latest application software level? a. If YES >>> then proceed to the next step. b. If NO >>> then reprogram the PCM to the latest software level. Refer to SB 18-013-08 (or later bulletin). Proceed to the next step ONLY after the PCM has been reprogrammed to the latest software level. 8. Was DTC P2262 present in the PCM?

The evaporative emission system is designed to prevent the escape of fuel vapors from the fuel system. Leaks in the system, even small ones, can allow fuel vapors to escape into the atmosphere. Government regulations require onboard testing to make sure that the evaporative (EVAP) system is functioning properly. The leak detection system tests for EVAP system leaks and blockage. It also performs self-diagnostics. During self-diagnostics, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) first checks the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for electrical and mechanical faults. If the first checks pass, the PCM then uses the LDP to seal the vent valve and pump air into the system to pressurize it. If a leak is present, the PCM will continue pumping the LDP to replace the air that leaks out. The PCM determines the size of the leak based on how fast/long it must pump the LDP as it tries to maintain pressure in the system. EVAP LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM COMPONENTS (FIGURE 1) Service Port : Used with special tools like the Miller Evaporative Emissions Leak Detector (EELD) to test for leaks in the system. EVAP Purge Solenoid : The PCM uses the EVAP purge solenoid to control purging of excess fuel vapors stored in the EVAP canister. It remains closed during leak testing to prevent loss of pressure. EVAP Canister : The EVAP canister stores fuel vapors from the fuel tank for purging.
