1. On AB, AN, BE/BR and DN bodies, go to next step. On all other bodies, CYLINDER MISFIRE DTC sets when Powertrain Control Module (PCM) senses an absence of spark. Possible causes are: defective ignition coil circuit, defective spark plug, defective spark plug cable or connector, defective fuel pump or filter, mechanical engine problem, defective EGR system, defective fuel injectors or connectors, restricted exhaust, low fuel level, restricted intake system, defective PCM power grounds, defective EVAP system or defective PCM. Go to next step. 2. Inspect ignition cables for proper installation. Repair cable installation as necessary and perform TEST VER-5A: ROAD TEST FOR OBD-II TROUBLE CODES . If cable are installed properly, go to next step. NOTE: Refer to manufacturer’s operation manual for instructions in use of engine analyzer and procedure for pattern analysis. 3. Turn ignition off. Connect an engine analyzer to engine. Start engine and allow it to idle for 2 minutes. If engine will not idle, maintain constant engine speed at more than idle. Go to next step. 4. Set engine analyzer to read display or parade pattern and check secondary ignition pattern while momentarily removing and reinstalling each spark plug wire from ignition coil or distributor. If secondary voltage is not at least 25,000 volts for each wire, replace ignition coil and perform TEST VER-5A: ROAD TEST FOR OBD-II TROUBLE CODES . If voltage is as specified, go to next step. NOTE: DO NOT spray inductive pick-up.

Duplicate the problem and see if there is power getting to the starter on the Yellow/Grey wire in the crank position. 3. Check the voltage drop of the cables or simply use jumper cables to see if it will crank over, if it does the cable(s) are at fault. Battery Cables Connector

The power seat can be adjusted in 6 different directions. The control switch is on the lower outboard side of the seat. The front lever on the switch raises or lowers (tilts) the front of the seat cushion. The center lever raises or lowers the complete seat by moving the switch up or down. The center lever also moves the seat forward and rearward by moving the switch forward or rearward. The rear lever raises or lowers (tilts) the back of the seat cushion. See Fig. 1 . There are 3 reversible motors that operate the power seat. The front and rear of the seat are operated by different motors. They can be raised or lowered simultaneously as well as independently of each other. Moving the center position seat switch to either the UP or DOWN position, runs both the front and rear motors at the same time. The forward-rearward motor is operated by the center position seat switch. When the switch is held in the FORWARD position, battery voltage is applied through the switch contacts to pin S3 (Tan wire) and the forward-rearward motor. The motor is grounded through S4 (White wire) and the contacts of the back switch to pin 2 and to ground. The motor runs to drive the seat forward until the switch is released. With the switch in the REAR position, pin S4 receives battery voltage and pin S3 is grounded. This reversed polarity causes the motor to run in the opposite direction and drive the seat backward.

Passive anti-theft system is designed to prevent vehicle theft. The Security Alarm Module (SAM) is a logic controlled device that monitors vehicle doors, hood, liftgate and ignition action for unauthorized operation. The alarm activates by sounding the horn, flashing the headlamps, park and tail lamps and providing an engine kill feature. Passive arming occurs upon normal vehicle exit (open door, lock with power locks, close door). The Security lamp in the panel will flash for 15 seconds, indicating that arming is in progress. Note that this 15 second arming period will start after the Illuminated Entry has timed out (courtesy lamps off). If no monitored systems are activated during this period, the system will arm. If the hood switch is not seen by the system, the Security lamp will remain steadily lit during the arming process, although the system will still arm. Active arming occurs when the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter is used to lock the vehicle doors, whether the doors are open or closed. If one or more doors are open, the arming sequence is completed only after all doors and liftgate are closed. Passive disarming occurs upon normal vehicle entry (unlocking either door with the key). This disarming will also halt the alarm once it has been activated. Active disarming occurs when the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter is used to unlock the vehicle doors. This disarming will also halt the alarm once it has been activated.
