1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH 4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH 5. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION (a) Start up the engine. (b) Turn the A/C switch on. (c) Operate the cooler compressor at an engine rpm of approximately 1,000 for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor as much as possible. (d) Stop the engine. (e) Using SST, let the refrigerant gas out. 6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment 7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH 8. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH 9. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH 10. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH 11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP 12. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH 13. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH 14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 15. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 16. SEPARATE SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (a) Remove the bolt, and slide the hook connector. (b) Disconnect the suction pipe sub-assembly. (c) Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe sub-assembly. Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering. 17. SEPARATE LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (a) Disconnect the liquid tube sub-assembly. (b) Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube sub-assembly. Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering. 18. REMOVE HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE

Throttle Body And TPS – Remove throttle body, refer to COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES. Throttle Stop Screw – Check that there is no clearance between throttle stop screw and lever with throttle plate in the fully closed position. TPS Screws – Loosen throttle position sensor set screws. TPS Adjustment Connect ohmmeter across throttle sensor terminals E2 and IDL. – Insert a 0.0157 in (0.40 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stop screw and lever. TPS Adjustment – Slowly turn sensor clockwise until ohmmeter shows no continuity. – Tighten sensor set screws. – Check adjustment with the following feeler gauges and note ohm reading: 0.010 in (0.25 mm) – Continuity 0.0335 in (0.85 mm) – No continuity – If desired results cannot be achieved, readjust sensor. If readings still cannot be achieved, replace sensor.

HINT: – The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated. – When the power back door drive unit, back door w/motor lock and battery is reconnected, the back door is locked and therefore cannot be opened. Therefore, it is necessary to unlock the back door using the door control switch or transmitter switch. 1. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD LH a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and remove the trim board. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. 2. REMOVE BACK WINDOW PANEL TRIM UPPER a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and 7 clips, and remove the trim upper. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. 3. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSY 4. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT a. Remove 2 bolts A indicated in the illustration. b. Remove the 4 bolts and drive unit. c. Disconnect the connector.5. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSY UPPER a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 10 clips and remove the trim panel. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. 6. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSY a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 8 clips and remove the trim panel. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. 7. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 clips and remove the trim cover. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. 8. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH HINT: Use the same procedures described for the RH side. 9. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM SPACER RH a. Remove the screw. b.
