GENERATOR INSPECTION Generator Warning Light 1. Verify that the battery is fully charged. 2. Verify that the drive belt deflection/tension is correct. 3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and verify that the generator warning light comes on. 4. If not, inspect the generator warning light, wiring harnesses between the battery, generator warning light, and PCM terminal 1 ohm . When the generator warning light and the wiring harnesses are okay, replace the PCM. 5. Verify that the generator warning light goes out after the engine is started. 6. If not, verify the diagnostic trouble code No.8 displayed. Generator Voltage 1. Verify that the battery is fully charged. 2. Verify that the drive belt deflection/tension is within the specification. 3. Turn off all electrical loads. 4. Turn the ignition switch to START and verify that the generator turns smoothly without any noise while the engine is running.

Installation Note: Regulator handle Install the regulator handle as shown. Note: With door glass at fully-closed position. Adjustment Door glass Adjustment of the door glass (convertible top and detachable hard top) is made as follows: 1. Vertical adjustment of door glass Adjustment procedure Remove the weatherstrip, and check alignment with the door glass in the fully-closed position. (1) Loosen upper stop installation bolts (A). (2) Adjust by moving the upper stop up or down so that the upper edge of the door glass is in the correct position, and then tighten bolts (A). Note: When the door glass is raised, both glass stop must contact the upper stop simultaneously. Before an upper stop is moved for adjustment, lower the door glass slightly.

1. Remove in the order indicated in the table. 2. Install in the reverse order of removal. 3. After installation, inspect the front wheel alignment and adjust it if necessary. (See FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT ). Fig. 3: Wheel Hub/Steering Knuckle Components & Torque Specification LOCKNUT REMOVAL NOTE 1. Knock the crimped portion of the locknut outward using a small chisel and a hummer. 2. Lock the hub by applying the brakes. 3. Remove the locknut. Remove the brake caliper component from the steering knuckle and suspend it out of the way using a cable. Fig. 5: Removing Brake Caliper WHEEL HUB, STEERING KNUCKLE COMPONENT REMOVAL NOTE 1. Separate the shock absorber from the wheel hub, steering knuckle component by tapping the upper part of the steering knuckle with a hammer.

1. Detach clips A, B and C and remove the upper panel. Fig. 14: Detaching Clips A, B & C Of Console Upper Panel 2. Detach clips D, E and F and remove the boot panel. Fig. 15: Detaching Clips D, E & F Of Boot Panel 3. Remove screws A. 4. Detach clips G. 5. Disconnect the cigarette lighter connector. 6. Remove the ashtray illumination, then remove the ashtray panel. 7. Remove the screws B. 8. Detach tabs H and remove the console. Fig. 16: Disconnecting Cigarette Lighter Connector 9. Install in the reverse order of removal. CONSOLE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY 1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the figure. 2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module senses reductions in front and rear wheel speed and modulates hydraulic pressure to the brakes to prevent wheel lock-up. The ABS consists of a hydraulic unit, 4 wheel speed sensors and sensor rotors, ABS relay (fail-safe relay and motor relay), pump motor and ABS control module. See Fig. 1. An ABS warning light is located on the instrument cluster. For more information on brake system, see BRAKE SYSTEM article.
