Getting started 1. Apply the handbrake. 2. Place chocks under the front wheels and engage 1st gear. Remove the Brake Caliper 6. The brake caliper needs to be removed to allow the brake disc to be removed. Working under the car remove the clip securing the brake hose in place. 3. Loosen the rear wheel nuts using a 19mm wheel wrench with the car on the ground. 4. Jack up the car and support safely using axle stands or ramps. Preferably jack up both sides at the same time, as it makes it easier to balance the handbrake action at the end. This will free the hose and pipe. Carefully slip the pipe fitting out of the bracket. 7. Remove the caliper lower fixing bolt (16mm socket). 5. Remove the road wheel. 8. Remove the plastic cap over the upper fixing bolt. Remove the Brake Disc 11. Loosen the brake disc holding screw using a T-30 Torx bit. 9. Use a 6mm allan key to remove the upper fixing bolt. 12. Release the hand brake and remove the brake disc. If this proves difficult, it may be necessary loosen the brake adjuster. To do this, remove the rubber plug…. 10. The caliper will now be loose and can be carefully lifted away from the disc, taking care to route the brake pipe gently to avoid strain. Support the caliper from the suspension spring using string or ties. …and turn the adjuster with a screwdriver inserted through the hole. The disc has been removed here to show the teeth on the adjuster.

If ever you need to remove the rear seats from your 306 Cabriolet, this is the article to read! Why would you want to? The main reason is likely to access the rear speaker housings (usually in the quest to update them) or if you wish to remove the side trim “cards”. This article applies to all variations of the 306 Cabriolet, with the only slight difference being pointed-out. Essential tools: 13mm socket or spanner Long screwdriver or stiff rod If your 306 Cabriolet was not fitted with optional rear head rests, you have it easy. Simply skip stages 3 to 6! 1. Remove both seat base lower bolts (13mm socket). Two 13mm seat base bolts indicated 2. Remove the rear seat base and store carefully. 3. Lower the roof but keep the roof cover open as you will need access to rear head rest sleeve clips. View of the rear bulkhead with the roof cover open Tip: Regardless of whether you’ve opened the roof cover using the hydraulic system or manually, ensure that the roof cover is securely held open. The cover may appear to stay in a vertical position initially, but the hydraulic ram will slowly let the cover down as the fluid drains out. Remember not to rely on the headrests or seat back to wedge a cardboard box in place as these parts are about to be removed (stating the bleeding’ obvious!). 4. Pull out both rear headrests and store carefully. Removal usually involves gently, but firmly, wiggling them from side to side while pulling up. On later Phase 2 and 3 models of the car, a button was introduced that has to be pressed inwards to aid the head rest’s removal.

1/Place vehicle on ramp or axle stands. Open Bonnet/Hood. Remove the 4xT20 torx screws from the top edge of the bumper. Remove the T20 torx screw within each wheelarch. Remove the 2x10mm bolts and the 4 plastic clips that retain the lower edge of the bumper. Remove the front sections of both front wheelarch liners by removing the plastic retaining clips. Once the arch liners are loose you can gain access to the 2x10mm bolts each side that retain the bumper to the front wing/fender. Disconnect the fog light connections either side and lift the whole front bumper section clear. See pictures below. 2/ Remove the plastic grille on the upper right of the engine bay by turning the 2 slots through 90 degrees to the right. Remove both complete headlamps, these are retained by 3x10mm screws and the single electrical connection to each headlight. 3/ Remove the 2x13mm bolts at the top of the radiator panel as shown below. Loosen the 2x hose clips at the top of the convoluted hoses from the intercooler. Completely remove the 2 plastic air pipes located on top of the engine (the 2 leading to the intercooler hoses) by removing the 2x10mm bolts that retain each pipe. Remove the single air conditioning pipe bracket on the lower left as you look at the front of the car (see picture below). Push the top intercooler retaining clip through the radiator panel so the top edge of the intercooler is free. Disconnect the single electrical connection to the intercooler fan system. Remove the crash bar by removing the 6x13mm bolts. Lift the radiator panel slightly upwards and forwards so it is free from the locators. Now lift the intercooler upwards and o ut from the engine bay (you may need help here to lift both the radiator panel and the intercooler from its location at the same time) Be careful not to damage the small bore water overflow pipes that run just behind the intercooler.
