REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER WITH BRACKET (b) Pull the radio receiver with bracket toward the rear of the vehicle and disengage the 4 clips. REMOVAL 1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE Remove the 7 clips and radiator grille. 3. DISCONNECT UPPER RADIATOR HOSE 4. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR HOSE 5. DISCONNECT LOWER RADIATOR HOSE 6. REMOVE RADIATOR NO.2 FAN SHROUD 7. A/T: DISCONNECT OIL COOLER HOSES 8. REMOVE RADIATOR Remove the 4 bolts and the radiator. DISASSEMBLY 1. REMOVE NO.1 FAN SHROUD Remove the 4 bolts and No.1 fan shroud. 2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORTS 3. REMOVE DRAIN PLUG ASSEMBLE SST SST 09230-01010 a. Install the claw to the overhaul handle, inserting it in the hole in part “A” as shown in the diagram. b. While gripping the handle, adjust the stopper bolt so that dimension “B” shown in the diagram is 0.2 – 0.3 mm (0.008 – 0.012 inch). NOTICE: If this adjustment is not done, the claw may be damaged. 5. UNCAULK LOCK PLATES Using SST to release the caulking, squeeze the handle until stopped by the stopper bolt. SST 09230-01010 6. REMOVE TANKS AND O-RINGS a. Lightly tap the radiator port (inlet or outlet) with a soft faced hammer, and remove the tank. b. Remove the O-ring. REASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE BACK DOOR ASSIST GRIP a. Using a screwdriver, open the covers. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. b. Remove the 2 screws and assist grip. 2. REMOVE BACK DOOR PULL STRAP a. Using a screwdriver, remove the strap cover. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip 3. REMOVE CENTER GARNISH Using a screwdriver, remove the center garnish. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. 4. REMOVE SIDE GARNISH a. Using a screwdriver, remove the side garnish. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. b. Employ the same manner described above to the other side. 5. REMOVE DOOR TRIM BOARD a. Insert a screwdriver between the door and door trim board to pry the door trim board out. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the door and door trim board. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. b. Pull the door trim board to remove it. 6. REMOVE HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT a. Remove the 2 screws. b. Disconnect the connector. c. Remove the high-mounted stop light. 7. REMOVE WASHER NOZZLE 8. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM Remove the nut, rear wiper arm. Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) 9. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY a. Remove the 3 bolts from the wiper motor. b. Remove the 2 bolts and wiper motor and link assembly. Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) c. Remove the grommet. 10. REMOVE COMBINATION LIGHTS 11. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY a. Disconnect the back door control cable from the handle lever. b. Disconnect the connector. c. Remove the 3 nuts. d. Using a screwdriver, remove the license plate light assembly. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. e. Remove the handle lever from the license plate light cover. f. Remove the license plate light assembly from the license plate light cover. 12. REMOVE KEY CYLINDER

1. Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature. Data Link Connector 1, Tachometer Connection 2. Connect tachometer test probe to terminal IG of the check connector. NOTE: Never let the tachometer lead touch ground as this could cause damage to the igniter and/or coil. Be sure to check that your tachometer is compatible with this ignition system before using it. Consult the operating manual for your instrument. Data Link Connector 1, Timing Connection 3. Using a service wire, connect terminals T and E1 of the check connector. 4. Using timing light, verify that the timing mark on timing cover is aligned with the mark on the crankshaft pulley. Ignition Timing: 10° BTDC at idle 5. If not as specified, loosen distributor hold-down bolt and rotate housing until the marks align. 6. Tighten the distributor bolt and recheck the ignition timing. 7. Remove service wire.

DOOR LOCK: TRANSMITTER BATTERY: REPLACEMENT REPLACEMENT HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal. 1. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY NOTICE: Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components. (a) Using a coin or equivalent, pry apart the transmitter case. NOTICE: Do not forcibly pry apart the case. (b) Remove the battery (lithium battery). NOTICE: Do not push the terminals with your finger. Do not forcibly pry up the battery (lithium battery). The terminals may become damaged. Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause rust. Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter as it may cease to work. 2. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY NOTICE: Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components. (a) Push and hold the release knob in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration. Take the emergency key out of the transmitter case.
