The airbag backup power supply must be depleted before component service is performed. To deplete the backup power supply energy, disconnect the battery ground cable and wait one minute. 1. Remove the passenger airbag module. WARNING: When carrying a live air bag, make sure the bag and trim cover are pointed away from your body. In addition, when placing a live air bag on a bench or other surface, always face the bag and trim cover up. This will reduce the motion of the module if it is accidentally deployed. 4. Disconnect the radio antenna, radio chassis electrical connectors, and cigar lighter knob and element connector. 13. Remove the accessory console with the radio chassis and the cigar lighter knob and element.
