1. On vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, remove the shift lever. 2. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, perform the following steps: 2.1. Apply the park brake. 2.2. Insert the ignition key and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. 2.3. Depress the brake pedal and shift the transmission to the 1 position. 2.4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Remove the left sound insulator. Remove the right instrument panel sound insulator. If the vehicle is equipped with a multiple CD changer located in the center console, remove the center console. Remove the center sound insulator. Remove the lower left instrument panel mounting bolt. Remove and retain the instrument panel storage compartment. Remove the lower right instrument panel mounting bolt. 11. Remove and retain the left and right speakers and the speaker grilles. 12. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the windshield defroster grille. Retain the grille and sunload sensor for use on the next IP carrier. 13. 14. 15. 16. If equipped with a sun load temperature sensor twist the sensor 1/4 turn counterclockwise in order to disengage. Disconnect the brown electrical connection from the body control module (BCM). Disconnect the purple electrical connection from the body control module (BCM). 1. Disconnect the electrical connector (3). 2. Remove the blower motor resistor mounting screws (1). 3. Remove the blower motor resistor (2) from the blower case. 2. Install the blower motor resistor mounting screws (1). Tighten Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in). 3. Connect the electrical connector (3). Removal Procedure (C60) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Remove the A/C control relay bracket with the relay. Remove the blower resistor harness. Remove the stud from the IP, if necessary. Remove the blower motor resistor mounting screw. Cut the access cover from the case. Cut all four sides of the cover in order to remove the three attaching screws. Use a sharp utility knife in order to cut the case. Make the cuts straight and clean. The access cover must be reinstalled and is visible to the customer.

1. Place transmission in Park, turn ignition off and wait at least 6 seconds. Turn ignition on, engine off and observe 3 shift select buttons. If all 3 buttons blink once, go to next step. If all 3 buttons do not blink once, go to step 1 under TEST RESULTS . 2. During step 1) , if one button remains lit to indicate transfer case shift position, go to next step. If one button did not remain lit, go to step 3 under TEST RESULTS . 3. Shift transfer case to 4HI, to 2HI, then back to 4HI. If transfer case mode shifts between 4HI and 2HI, go to next step. If transfer case mode does not shift between 4HI and 2HI, go to step 5 under TEST RESULTS . 4. Apply parking brake. Place transmission in Park (A/T) or 1st gear (M/T). Turn ignition on, engine off. Place transfer case in 4HI position. Press 4LO shift select button. If 4LO shift select button blinks for 30 seconds then stops when 4HI button illuminates, go to next step. If operation is not as specified, go to step 7 under TEST RESULTS .

1. On vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, remove the shift lever. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION – NV 3500 or MANUAL TRANSMISSION – NV 3500 . 2. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, perform the following steps: 2.1. Apply the park brake. 2.2. Insert the ignition key and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. 2.3. Depress the brake pedal and shift the transmission to the 1 position. 2.4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. CAUTION: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components. 3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. CAUTION: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
