FORD: LINCOLN: 2002-2005 Crown Victoria, Mustang, Explorer 2002-2005 Town Car 2003-2005 Expedition 2003-2005 Navigator 2004-2005 F-150 MERCURY: 2002-2005 Grand Marquis, Mountaineer This article supersedes TSB 04-17-5 to update the model year and vehicle line coverage. ISSUE Some 2003-2005 Expedition/Navigator, 2004-2005 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 9.75? or 8.8? limited slip rear axle, and 2002-2005 Explorer 4dr, Mountaineer, Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Town Car, and Mustang vehicles equipped with 8.8? limited slip rear axle, may exhibit a chatter, shudder, a binding sensation, or a vibration during low speed turns. On 4×4 vehicles, the sensation may appear to be originating from the front axle or the steering gear. ACTION First verify the condition. On 4×4 trucks ensure that the vehicle is in 2WD, to isolate the rear axle. On all vehicles, turn the wheel fully right (or fully left) and then accelerate the vehicle. If the condition is verified to be in the rear axle, replace the limited slip clutch pack. SERVICE PROCEDURE

Air suspension switch in trunk area must be turned o . On 1991-94 vehicles, locate the control module for the air suspension in the trunk area on either the back of rear seat or behind the trim panel on the right rear side of the trunk. On 1995-97 vehicles the control module is located under the right side of dash panel. There are 2 connectors for all model years, 1 black and 1 gray. On the 98-06 leave the solenoid connected. Disconnect the black connector and remove or cut the wire to pin #11 as shown. This will turn o the “AIR SUSP” message on the dashboard. The color code for this wire should be as follows: LINCOLN TOWN CAR: dark green/light green CROWN VICTORIA: green MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS: green Reconnect the black connector to the control module. This connector must be reconnected as the control module also controls functions of the “EVO” steering system. Turn Suspension Switch ON. NOTE: The parts in this kit are designed to replace the worn or nonfunctioning original equipment parts in the vehicle as produced by the car factory. These parts are not designed for installation on vehicles where the suspension aand/or steering systems have been modified for racing, competition, or any other reason than originally designed by manufacturer.

Engine Electrical > Firing Orders Firing Orders To avoid confusion, always replace spark plugs and wires one at a time. Replacing spark plugs and wires one at a time will help prevent incorrect wire routing or cross-firing resulting from an incorrect firing order. If more than one wire is to be disconnected at a single time, be sure to tag all of the cables to assure proper installation. Also, be disconnecting the cables, compare the firing order and routing to these diagrams and note any differences for installation purposes. This will help assure the wires are properly installed.
