Crankshaft and camshaft sprocket alignment. (1) Align mark on crankshaft sprocket with mark on the oil pump cover at cylinder
block. Zoom Sized for Print (2) Align single line mark on right-hand exhaust camshaft sprocket with notch on belt cover. Align single line mark on right-hand exhaust camshaft sprocket with notch on belt
cover. (Make sure double lines on intake camshaft and exhaust camshaft sprockets
are aligned.) Zoom Sized for Print (4) Align single line mark on left-hand exhaust camshaft sprocket with notch on belt cover by turning sprocket counter-clockwise (as viewed from front of engine). When timing belts are not installed, four camshafts are held at the “zero-lift” position, where all cams on camshafts do not push intake and exhaust valves down. (Under this condition, all valves remain un-lifted.) When camshafts are rotated to install timing belts, #2 intake and #4 exhaust

held so that their cams do not push valves down. Left-hand camshafts must be rotated from the “zero-lift” position to the position where timing belt is to be installed at as small an angle as possible, in order to prevent mutual interference of intake and exhaust valve heads.

REMOVAL 1) Remove front wheels. 2) Remove air intake duct. Zoom Sized for Print 3) Disconnect connector from front oxygen sensor. 4) Disconnect connector from rear oxygen sensor, (California 2200 cc model only) 5) Remove pitching stopper. 6) Remove radiator upper brackets, 7) Support engine with a lifting device and wire ropes.
8) Lift-up the vehicle.

INSTALLATION NOTE: Be careful not to damage the roof and other finished surfaces of the body when installing the roof box. Do not allow the combined weight of the accessory and cargo to exceed the carrying capacity of the roof rack. An optional Honda roof rack (sold separately) is required to install the roof box. 1. With the help of an assistant, carefully place the box on the crossbars. Open the tailgate to make sure that the box is not interfering with the tailgate. ADHESIVE BACKING BRACKET B ADHESIVE BACKING PLATE ADHESIVE SEALS (4) 4615020B SMALL PAD LARGE PAD ATTACHING SURFACE 2. 3. Open the roof box. Slide the plate forward or backward until the holes in the plate are over the front roof rack crossbar. The plate is located near the front of the roof box. ROOF BOX PLATE Align the holes in the plate over the front crossbar. Attach an adhesive seal over the unsued rear mounting holes along the bottom of the roof box. The seal will help prevent water from entering the roof box. Remove the roof box from the vehicle. 4. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the four brackets B where the small pads will attach. Remove the adhesive backings from the small pads and attach them to the brackets B. SMALL PAD ATTACHING SURFACE LARGE PAD 5. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the four plates where the large pads will attach. Remove the adhesive backings from the large pads and attach them to the plates. Under the roof box, insert a bolt through bracket B, through the plate and into the predrilled hole in the bottom of the roof box. 8. With the help of an assistant, carefully place the box on the crossbars. Be aware of the hardware hanging from the bottom of the box.
