To remove the heelboard relay and fuse box trim panels, turn the fastener 90 degrees and pull the trim panel forwards. See Fig. 7 . When reinstalling heelboard relay and fuse box trim panels, insert the top of the trim panel under the rear seat pan and push the bottom of the trim panel until it is fully seated. Insert the fastener and turn 90 degrees to secure the trim panel. For left heelboard relay and fuse box fuse identification, see Fig. 8 . For right heelboard relay and fuse box fuse identification, see Fig. 9 .

Repair Procedure:
1. Raise vehicle on hoist, and support lower control arm. 2. Remove wheel and tire assembly. 3. Mark position of upper eccentric camber bolts. 4. Remove upper ball joint spindle nut and pinch bolt, 5. Separate upper ball joint from spindle. 6. Remove nuts and camber bolts attaching upper control arm-to-frame, 7. Remove upper control arm. 8. Place control arm in vise, press ball joint out with ball joint press. See Fig. 1. 9. After ball joint has been pressed out install new ball joint (500-1109) with the words “install inboard” facing toward the inboard side of control arm. See Fig. 2. Incorrect installation may cause damage to the ball joint 10. Install ball joint boot with words “install inboard” towards the inboard side of control arm. See Fig. 3. 11. Install upper control arm. 12. Align upper eccentric camber bolts with marks made during removal. 13. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. Then check wheel alignment

CAUTION When performing service around Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system components or wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Failure to do so could result in possible air bag deployment, personal injury, or unneeded SIR system repairs. Catera 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the steering wheel. 3. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. 4. Insert a small pointed awl or wire into the ignition lock cylinder release pinhole. 5. Pull out the ignition lock cylinder. Fig. Insert a pointed tool into the release pin hole To install: 6. Install the lock cylinder. 1. Look into the hole that receives the lock cylinder on the lower RH side in order to locate the locking lever. 2. Carefully push down on the locking lever using a small flat-bladed tool until an audible click is heard. 3. Place the lock cylinder into the empty hole. 7. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Install the steering wheel. Deville, Fleetwood, Eldorado and Seville 1. Disable the SIR system as follows: 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Turn the ignition switch OFF . 3. Remove the SIR fuse. On 1990 Deville and Fleetwood, remove SIR fuse No. 3 from the fuse panel. On 1991-93 Deville and Fleetwood, remove SIR fuse No. 18 from the fuse panel. On 1990-91 Eldorado and Seville, remove SIR fuse No. 19 from the fuse panel. On 1992-93 Eldorado and Seville, remove SIR fuse No. All from the engine compartment fuse panel. 4. On Deville and Fleetwood, remove the left lower sound insulator. On Eldorado and Seville, remove the left side sound insulator. 5. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and detach the yellow 2-way connector at the base of the steering column.
