Also, a step has been added to the 1991 Cadillac Eldorado and Seville repair. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 00-03-11-001 (Section 3 – Suspension). Some owners may bring their vehicles in for service with an illuminated service suspension light. The service suspension indicator lamp is telling the owner that the vehicle is due for strut/shock replacement, a maintenance item. The customer may elect to have passive struts installed in their vehicles due to repair cost savings and/or parts availability. The installation of passive shock/struts will result in handling characteristics which are the equal to a like vehicle without the computer controlled ride, with all other components such as tires, tire pressure, springs, etc. being equal. The installation of (4) new passive struts will cause the continued illumination of the service suspension indicator. If desired by the customer, the service indicator may be disabled AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF THE (4) NEW PASSIVE STRUTS, using the appropriate service procedure listed below. This bulletin DOES NOT authorize this procedure unless (4) NEW PASSIVE STRUTS WERE INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE.

ISSUE Some 2001-2005 Taurus/Sable, 2001-2006 Escape and 2005-2006 Mariner vehicles built prior to
1-17-2006 equipped with the 3.0L 4V Duratec engine may exhibit a ticking noise from the left bank cylinder head, with the engine at normal operating temperature only.
ACTION To diagnose, with the engine running and warm (normal operation temperature), using a mechanic’s stethoscope determine if the ticking noise is coming from the left hand intake camshaft at cylinder number 6, (Figure 1). If the ticking noise can be verified, refer to the following Service Procedure.

Some vehicles may exhibit a check suspension lamp on with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s) B2140 or C2140 even after the Air Suspension switch in the upper RH kick panel has been turned on. This may occur at pre-delivery, following suspension service, or after Air Suspension module replacement. This may be caused by the ride height calibration. ACTION Adjust and/or recalibrate ride height as necessary using the NGS (New Generation Star) Tester. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details. SERVICE PROCEDURE NOTE DURING PDI (PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION) IF “CK SUSP” LIGHT IS ON, PRIOR TO SENDING TO SERVICE, VERIFY SWITCH IN UPPER RIGHT KICK PANEL IS ON. THIS SWITCH IS TURNED OFF DURING VEHICLE SHIPMENT TO PREVENT MODULE FROM SEEKING TRIM HEIGHT WHILE
SECURED DOWN FOR TRANSPORT.

Customer Concern: Tests/Procedures: Potential Causes: Tech Tips: Code C0660 will reset. 1. Check the RTD fuse located in the underhood fuse block. 2. Check for Battery Voltage (B+) on the Orange wire at the automatic level control air compressor pin F. 3. If less than B+ at pin F, check for a wiring and connection problem between the air compressor and the underhood fuse block. 4. Disconnect the compressor leveling module connector and check the resistance from the positive battery voltage circuit of the exhaust solenoid valve and the control circuit of the exhaust solenoid valve. Should be 30-90 ohms. 5. Check for B+ on the Dark Blue wire pin B at the air compressor with the exhaust solenoid commanded off. 6. Check for B+ at the Electronic Suspension Control module connector C2 pin B5 Dark Blue wire with the exhaust solenoid commanded off. 7. If there is B+ at the air compressor but not at the electronic suspension control, check for a wiring and connection problem between the air compressor and the electronic suspension control module.
