- with CODE (U49) Styling Package Remove/Install 1 Remove cover (1) from bumper NOTE: Do not break retaining lugs. 2 Remove bulb housing (2) NOTE: To unlock, rotate counterclockwise. Installation: Ensure that the locking device has locked securely. 3 Remove fog lamp insert (6) from housing Installation wedge: See Special Tools below. 4 Disconnect connector (4) 5 Remove bulb on the back of the fog lamp insert (6) CAUTION: Do not hold the bulb with bare fingers, as fingerprints bake and leave behind opaqueness on the bulb. Use a soft, lint-free cloth. NOTE: Lock securely. 6 Install in the reverse order Special Tools

2000-2009 Ford Focus ENGINE VIBRATION AT IDLE

Some 2000-2009 Focus vehicles may exhibit an excessive engine vibration at idle, most noticeable when the transmission is engaged in reverse. This condition may be caused by small stones, road debris, ice or snow packed / lodged in the rear engine roll restrictor. ACTION: Inspect the rear engine roll restrictor for debris and install service shield if necessary. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Inspect the rear engine roll restrictor for debris. Remove any debris from rear engine roll restrictor. Remove the cross member-to-roll restrictor attachment bolt. Install service shield. (Figure 1) Install roll restrictor attachment bolt and torque to 35 lb-ft (47 N-m).

Disassembly All vehicles 1. Remove the two multifunction switches. 1. Depress the retaining tangs. 2. Lift the switches upwards. 2. Detach the driver air bag module from the steering wheel. 3. Remove the driver air bag module. Release the three clips. Disconnect the air bag module electrical connector. 4. Remove the passive anti-theft system (PATS) transceiver. 5. Remove the steering wheel. 1. Disconnect the speed control electrical connector (if equipped). 2. Remove the steering wheel retaining bolt. 6. Remove the tolerance ring. 7. NOTE: Make sure the clockspring is not allowed to rotate. Secure in the central position with a piece of suitable tape. Remove the clockspring. Using a thin bladed screwdriver, release the two retaining clips. 8. Remove the ignition switch. Release the clips. 9. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. 1. Insert and turn the ignition key to position I (Accessory). 2. Using a thin bladed screwdriver, depress the detent. 3. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. Vehicles with stability assist 10. Fully extend the steering column 1. Release the locking lever. 2. Fully extend the steering column. 11. NOTE: The steering column two halves must be marked before separating. Mark the two halves of the steering column. All vehicles 12. Remove the Allen bolt. 13. Separate the steering column two halves. Vehicles with stability assist 14. Remove the steering wheel rotation sensor clamp. 1. Remove the screws. 2. Using a thin bladed screwdriver, depress the locking tangs and remove the steering wheel rotation sensor clamp. 15. Remove the steering wheel rotation sensor retaining screws. 16. Remove the steering wheel rotation sensor. Assembly Vehicles with stability assist 1. WARNING: Do not install a new steering wheel rotation sensor, if the locking pin has been removed. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury. WARNING: Before fitting the steering wheel rotation sensor, make sure the rotor is in the correct position. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury. Check that the alignment indicator is in the correct position.

2001–2003 3.2 Acura CL Blower Motor Does Not Work

SYMPTOM The blower motor does not work at all. PROBABLE CAUSE Poor connection at the blower motor caused by tension on the wiring harness. CORRECTIVE ACTION Install a blower motor sub harness. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Remove the glove box and cover: • 1999–03 3.2 TL: See page 20-66 of the 1999–03 3.2 TL Service Manual. • 2001–03 3.2 CL: See page 20-64 of the 2001–03 3.2 CL Service Manual. • Online, enter keyword GLOVE, and select Glove Box Removal/Installation from the list. 2. Disconnect the brown 7P connector (C202) from the main harness. Remove the YEL/BLK wire terminal from cavity 3 of connector C202. Cut off the terminal, and tape the remaining end of the wire to the harness. NOTE: If necessary, refer to the terminal replacement section of the appropriate ETM for how to properly remove a terminal from a connector.

ISSUE Some vehicles built prior to 12/1/2001 may exhibit the following shift and engagement conditions: • No 2nd Gear • No 3rd Gear • No Engine Braking In Manual 1st. Out of specification pressures controlled by the transmission main control valve body separator plate may be the cause. ACTION Verify the condition, the main control valve body separator plate may need to be updated to the latest level. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details. SERVICE PROCEDURE CAUTION TO BE ADDED OR REPLACED FOR THIS TSB. 1. Verify that one or more of the following conditions exist. • Low Line Pressure While In Drive At WOT • No 2nd And/Or No 3rd Gear • No Engine Braking In Manual 1st • DTC P0732, P0733 Or P1762 2. Install Kit (3L5Z-7M203-JA) to update the main control valve body assembly, refer to the installation procedures found in the kit. 3. Reinstall the main control by continuing to follow the installation steps listed in the Workshop Manual, in-vehicle service, main control valve body. 4. After completing the procedure, verify the condition has been corrected.
