Typically, the throttle plate angle parameter is 12-20% at time of condition with vehicle speed of approximately 24-40 km/h (15-25 mph). The customer may describe the condition as slip or delayed shift into second. Correction Replace the complete second clutch assembly with service kit, P/N 24240561. Refer to the GM Unit Repair Service Manual for the year and model of the vehicle being serviced for the 2nd Clutch service procedure. This service kit contains: Second Clutch Housing Fluid Seal Rings (613), a Second Clutch Assembly (617), a Case Cover (Channel Plate) Upper Gasket (430), and a Case Cover (Channel Plate) Lower Gasket (429). In addition to the content of this service kit, other gaskets not included in this service kit will also be needed to complete the repair – a Case Cover Lower Gasket (429), and a Case Cover Upper Gasket (430). These gaskets can be obtained by ordering gasket kit 24206391. Be sure to use ONLY the Second Clutch Assembly and Second Clutch Housing Fluid Seal Rings provided in this service kit. DISCARD the Second Clutch Assembly and Second Clutch Housing Fluid Seal Rings removed from the transmission being serviced. Disassemble ONLY the Oil Pump Assembly from the Case Cover (Complete). DO NOT disassemble the Control Valve Body from the Case Cover. Remove ONLY the Case Cover-to-Case bolts to remove the Case Cover and Valve Body from Transmission Case AS AN ASSEMBLY . To access all Case Cover-to-Case bolts, it is necessary to remove the Pressure Control Solenoid Valve Assembly (322), and 1-2 & 3-4 Shift Solenoid Valve

SUBJECT: MODELS: Loss of Power Steering Assist – Replace Electric Power Steering Motor 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt 2005 Pontiac Pursuit 2005-2006 Pontiac G4 2006 Pontiac G5 Pursuit 2007-2010 Pontiac G5 Equipped with Electric Power Steering 2005-2010 model year Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles; 2005 model year Pontiac Pursuit; 2005-2006 model year Pontiac G4; 2006 model year Pontiac G5 Pursuit; and 2007-2010 model year Pontiac G5 vehicles equipped with electric power steering. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which a sudden loss of power steering assist could occur at any time while driving the vehicle. If the power steering assist is lost, a chime will sound and a “Power Steering” message will be displayed in the Driver Information Center to inform the driver of the condition. Steering control will be maintained, as the vehicle defaults to a manual steering mode. If power steering assist is lost, it may require greater driver effort at low vehicle speeds, for example, below 15 mph (25 km/h). Unless a driver compensates for this additional effort, it may increase the risk of a crash. Typically, the next time the vehicle is started, the power steering assist will return and the “Power Steering” message will no longer be displayed. EPS Motor Replacement Procedure Note: The use of Loctite is no longer required. Loctite should not be used for any further applications. 1. Connect the Tech 2® to the vehicle and check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). 2. Record any present DTCs on the repair order and during claim submission. 3. Clear any DTCs that are present. 4. Remove the power steering assist motor. Refer to Power Steering Assist Motor Replacement in SI. Note: For 2005 model year vehicles only: Do NOT install the o-ring between the motor assembly and the steering column assembly. The new service motor kit will include an o- ring, but DO NOT install the o-ring for 2005 model year vehicles only. 5. Install the new power steering assist motor. Refer to Power Steering Assist Motor Replacement in SI. 6. Perform Test Drive.

DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK – THEFT DETERRENT Test Description The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table. 2: Lack of communication may be due to a partial malfunction of the class 2 serial data circuit or due to a total malfunction of the class 2 serial data circuit. The specified procedure will determine the particular condition. 5: The presence of DTCs which begin with “U” indicate some other module is not communicating. The specified procedure will compile all the available information before tests are performed. 6: The listed DTCs are internal module malfunctions and should be corrected before attempting any other diagnostics. 7: The listed DTCs are battery voltage related malfunctions and should be corrected before attempting any other diagnostics.

Subject: L36, L67, L26, L32, LA1, LX9, MN7, M15 Ticking or Knocking Type Noise Coming From Engine or Transmission Area (Replace Flexplate and Torque Converter) Models: 2005 Buick Park Avenue 2005-2006 Buick Allure (Canada Only), LaCrosse, LeSabre, Rendezvous, Terraza 2005 Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo, Venture 2005-2006 Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx, Uplander 2005 Pontiac Aztek, Bonneville 2005-2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, G6 GTP, Montana SV6 2006 Saturn Relay AWD with 3800 3.8L Series III V6 Engine (VINs K, 1, 2, 4, – RPOs L36, L67, L26, L32) or 3500 3.5L V6 Engine (VINs L, 8 RPO LX9) or 3400 3.4L V6 Engine (VIN E – RPO LA1) and Hydra- Matic(R) 4T65-E Transmission (RPOs MN7, M15) Some customers may comment on a ticking or knocking type noise coming from the engine or transmission area. Cause Typically the noise is caused by either the transmission rear dust cover contacting the flexplate (refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 05-06-01-028) or a cracked flexplate (sometimes also referred to as a flywheel). Correction With the vehicle raised and supported on a suitable hoist, verify that the noise is coming from the flexplate area. If the noise is present, follow the procedure below. If the noise is not coming from the flexplate area, refer to Lower Engine Noise, Regardless of Engine Speed in SI. Important: The following information only applies to vehicles with the noise coming from the flexplate area.

ISSUE Some 2001-2005 Taurus/Sable, 2001-2006 Escape and 2005-2006 Mariner vehicles built prior to
1-17-2006 equipped with the 3.0L 4V Duratec engine may exhibit a ticking noise from the left bank cylinder head, with the engine at normal operating temperature only.
ACTION To diagnose, with the engine running and warm (normal operation temperature), using a mechanic’s stethoscope determine if the ticking noise is coming from the left hand intake camshaft at cylinder number 6, (Figure 1). If the ticking noise can be verified, refer to the following Service Procedure.
