Tool Required J 41240 Fan Clutch Wrench Removal Procedure 1. Drain the coolant. 2. Remove the fan and shroud. 3. Remove the drive belt. 4. Using the J 41240, secure the water pump pulley and remove the water pump pulley bolts. 5. Remove the J 41240. 6. Remove the water pump pulley. 7. Loosen and remove the water pump bolts. 8. Remove the water pump. 9. Clean and inspect the water pump. 10. Discard and replace the gasket. Installation Procedure 1. Install a new water pump gasket. NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. See: Service Precautions\Vehicle Damage Warnings\Fastener Notice 2. Install the water pump and secure the water pump with the bolts. Tighten On the initial pass, tighten the bolts to 4 Nm (35 lb in). On the final pass, tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in). 3. Install the water pump pulley. 4. Install the water pump pulley bolts.

1. If equipped, remove the IP sound insulator. 2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the blower motor. 3. Disconnect the electrical connection from the blower motor resistor. Remove the blower motor resistor retaining screws. 5. Remove the blower motor resistor. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Install the blower motor resistor. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. 2. Install the blower motor resistor retaining screws. Tighten Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in) . 3. Connect the electrical connection to the blower motor resistor. 4. Connect the electrical connection to the blower motor. 5. If equipped, install the IP sound insulator.

Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 03-07-30-007C (Section 07 – Transmission/Transaxle). Park/Neutral to Reverse or Drive (commonly called garage shift) engagement times may be different from what many customers might be accustomed to especially if they have recently traded for a General Motors vehicle. Normal Park/Neutral to Reverse or Drive engagement time will be in the vicinity of one (1) second if the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is above 0°C (32°F) . When the ATF is colder than 0°C (32°F), the engagement time will become longer the colder the transmission fluid. A time limit factor cannot be placed on proper engagement times because the factors that affect transmission operation are many. At the moment of engine start, for economy and emission requirements, the transmission line pressure is maintained at low levels. This allows a lower cold idle engine RPM (the colder the oil is the higher the energy level (engine torque output) required to pressurize the oil).

1. Disable the frontal and curtain air bags. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 , SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 , SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 , and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6. 2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. 3. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (GE 47716 Fill). 4. Remove the evaporator outlet hose and liquid line nut from the thermal expansion valve (TXV). 5. Remove the evaporator outlet hose from the TXV. 6. Remove and discard the sealing washer from the evaporator outlet hose. 7. Remove the evaporator outlet hose and liquid line from the TXV. 8. Remove and discard the sealing washer from the liquid line. 9. Install a protective caps to the evaporator outlet hose and the liquid line to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
