LUBRICATION SERVICE INTERVALS Check lubricant level every 20,000 on all except 4WD Pickups. On 4WD Pickups, check every 15,000 miles. Replace fluid if vehicle is operated in severe service conditions. CHECKING FLUID LEVEL Transmission Check lubricant level at fill plug hole. Lubricant should be to bottom of hole. Transmission on Tercel Wagon has 2 drain plugs on bottom of transaxle. Transfer Case (Except Tercel Wagon) Drain plugs on 4WD transfer cases are separate from main transmission case. Transfer Case (Tercel Wagon) The integral differential and transaxle assembly on Tercel Wagons have separate drain and fill plugs. See Fig. 1. When filling with fluid, leave extension housing drain plug loose about 7 or 8 turns. After filling, tighten drain plug.

By a built-in sensor unit, the manifold absolute pressure sensor detects the intake manifold pressure as a voltage. The ECM then determines the basic injection duration and basic injection advance angle based on this voltage. Since the manifold abso lute pressure sensor does not use the atmospheric pressure as a criterion, but senses the absolute pressure inside the intake
manifold (the pressure in proportion to the present absolute vacuum 0), it is not influenced by fluctuations in the atmospheric pressure due to high altitude and other factors. This permits it to control the air-fuel ratio at the proper lever under all conditions.

1. Disconnect the Fuel-cut Solenoid and unscrew it from the carburetor. 2. Connect battery current to the terminals as shown.
Page 1 Testing Fuel-Cut Solenoid Operation – Case Grounded 3. When connection is made, a “click” should be heard and felt as the plunger retracts. 4. If a problem is found, replace the Fuel-cut Solenoid. 5. Connect battery current to terminals as shown and repeat step 3
