Special Tools Required KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014* *Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program; call 888-424-6857 NOTE: Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts. Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. 1. M/T model: Remove the shift knob (A). -1 Lower the shift lever boot (B) to release the hooks (C) from the knob. 2. Detach the clips (A, B) by pulling the center console front panel (C) up. If equipped, disconnect the seat heater switch connectors (D). 3. Pry up on the right of the console pocket (A) with a trim tool, and detach the clips, then remove the pocket. 4. Remove the screws (A), detach the clips (B) and hook (C) by pulling the center holder (D) up, and disconnect the front accessory power socket connector (E). 5. Detach the clips (A, B) by pulling the center console rear panel (C) up. 6. Remove the center console (A). -1 Open the console box lid (B) then remove the console mat (C). -2 If equipped, disconnect the rear accessory power socket connector (D), and detach the clip (E). -3 Remove the screws (F, G), then pull the rear portion of the console up to release the hooks (H), then remove

SYMPTOM The center pocket lid rubs, does not open, or opens but does not stay closed. PROBABLE CAUSE The center pocket is misaligned or incorrectly assembled. DIAGNOSIS Try to open and close the center pocket lid. • If the lid rubs against the dashboard, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE A: CENTER POCKET REALIGNMENT. • If the lid does not open, or it opens but does not stay closed, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE B: CENTER POCKET SCREW TIGHTENING/CENTER POCKET REPLACEMENT. REPAIR PROCEDURE A: CENTER POCKET REALIGNMENT 1. Remove the center pocket assembly: • Refer to page 20-132 of the 2003–2007 Accord Service Manual, or • Online, enter keyword POCKET, and select Dashboard Center Pocket Removal/ Installation from the list. 2. Using a round file, elongate the right mounting screw hole as shown. NOTE: Do not use a file larger than 4.0 mm, and do not elongate the hole more than 4.0 mm. 3. Reinstall the center pocket assembly, but don’t tighten the mounting screws yet.

NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components. Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts. 1. Detach the clips (A, B), and release the hooks (C) by pulling the center console trim (D) from both sides. 2. Open the console box lid (A) then remove the console mat (B) and screws (C, D). 3. Slide the rear section of the center console (A) rearward to release the hooks (B). 4. Lift up the rear of the console (A). Release the harness retainer clip (B) from the air duct, and disconnect the console accessory power socket connector (C), the light bulb socket connector (D), and the AUX connector (E), then remove the rear section of the center console. 5. Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Push the clips into place securely. Make sure the console accessory power socket connector and the AUX connector are plugged in properly, and the light bulb socket is connected securely.

2003 Honda Accord EX 2003-04 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS’ ‘A/T Interlock System – Accord NO -Repair faulty brake light circuit. 2. Connect the HDS to the DLC. Check engine speed and throttle position in the A/T data list. Is the engine speed at idle, and TPS about 0.5 V? NO -Repair engine speed or throttle position input. 3. Select SHIFT LOCK SOL TEST in MISC. TEST MENU, then carry out shift lock solenoid function test. Does the shift lock solenoid work properly? YES -System circuit is OK. Check the shift lock mechanism, if necessary. Remove the center console (See CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). Disconnect the shift lock solenoid connector. Measure the voltage between No. 1 terminal of the shift lock solenoid connector and body ground.
