114171 a Remove the storage tray from its housing. WARNING Do not pull on the storage tray cover. a Remove bolts (1) . 101450 a Unclip the pull handle cover. a Disconnect the door mirror switch connector. a Remove: – the cover, – door opening handle bolt (2) . Note: Do not remove the lower opening control cable. 101454 a Unclip the trim flap using the unclipping pliers (protecting the trim). a Open the flap. a Hold the flap open (using masking tape). a Remove the lock barrel (see 51A, Side opening element mechanisms, Front side door lock bar- rel ). a Remove the handle in the direction of (4) and (5) . a Remove the handle with care, to avoid damaging the connector. WARNING For models equipped with the hands-free feature, be careful not to damage the connector during removal. 101986 a Disconnect the opening button male connector. a Unclip the handle module female connector. 101838 a Check that seal (9) is in place before refitting the handle. 10 11 101840 a Refit: – the handle, – the lock barrel (10) . a Lock the catch (11) . a Carry out a manual function test on the lock barrel. a Proceed in the reverse order to removal. REMOVAL a Remove: – the door frame flap (see 72A, Side opening element trims, Front door trim ). – the exterior handle (see 51A, Side opening element mechanisms, Exterior door handle ). 1 101838 a Disconnect the various connectors (depending on the level of equipment). a Remove bolts (4) . a Remove the lock assembly (held by hook (5) ) and module. a Remove the seal (1) . VEHICLE FITTED WITH A PRESENCE SENSOR 2 3 7 21632 a Remove: – the two stops (2) , – the door panel module (3) , a Unclip the prism at (6) and then at (7) using a flat- blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove bezel near inside door latch release handle by inserting a flat- bladed screwdriver into notched end of bezel and prying gently upward. Remove door trim panel mounting screw located in bezel opening near door latch release handle. 2. Remove trim cap and screw near rear of door armrest. Remove trim cap and screw at upper front corner of trim panel. Using a trim stick or other suitable flat-bladed tool, pry trim panel away from door around perimeter, starting at bottom of door, and remove trim panel. 3. Disconnect chassis wiring from door multiplex switch module. Pull watershield away from rear access holes in inner door panel. Remove “U” clip retainer securing lock cylinder. Disconnect lock cylinder rod from door latch by unsnapping retainer from rod. 4. Pull lock cylinder out from outer door panel far enough to pry lock cylinder switch off back of lock cylinder. Disconnect chassis wiring and remove switch from inside door. To install, reverse removal procedure

1. Lower or raise the front door glass so that the distance from the top of the front door glass at the rear end to the upper part of the front molding is 185 mm {7.3 in} 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 3. Remove the front door trim. 4. Disassemble in the order indicated below. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. Inner handle Front door trim bracket Door screen Front door glass Front manual window regulator Front power window regulator Glass run channel Front door lock Outer handle Door key cylinder Door weatherstrip Door lower weatherstrip 5. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly. Front Door Glass Disassembly Note 1. Remove the front door glass installation bolts. 2. Slant the front door glass as shown, and remove the front door glass from the inside of the front door. Outer Handle Assembly Note 1. Connect the door key cylinder harness of outer handle as shown.

Removal Procedure 1. Place window in the full up position. 2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement – Side Front Door (See: Front Door Panel\Service and Repair\Front Door Panel Replacement) . 3. Remove the rear push in retainer on the water deflector. 4. Peel water deflector away from door panel far enough to access the outside door handle. Refer to Water Deflector, Check Link Replacement – Front Door (See: Front Door Panel\Service and Repair\Front Door Panel Components) . 5. Disconnect the outside door handle rod (1) by opening the retainer (2) at the door latch. 6. Remove the outside door handle cap screw access plug from the door. 7. Remove the screw securing the outside door handle cap. 8. Open the door handle slightly then remove the cap. 9. Raise the outside door handle counterbalance weight and remove the outside door handle by rocking outboard and sliding rearward. 10. Remove the gaskets.
