1999 Dodge Grand Caravan Trim Panel: Service and Repair REMOVAL INSTALLATION

Trim Panel: Service and Repair REMOVAL 1. Using a trim stick (C-4755), pry courtesy lamp from door trim. 2. Disconnect wire connector from courtesy lamp. 3. If equipped, remove screws attaching door assist handle to inner door panel. 4. If equipped, remove screw attaching door pull cup to inner door panel. 5. If equipped, remove screws attaching trim panel to door from below map pocket. 6. If equipped, remove window crank. 7. Using a trim stick, remove screw cover from switch panel. 8. Remove screws attaching switch panel to door trim. 9. Remove power accessary switch from door trim. 10. Disconnect power switch from wire connector. 11. If equipped, using a small, flat bladed pry tool, remove memory seat/mirror switch and disconnect wire connector. 12. If equipped, remove screw holding door trim to door panel from behind inside latch release handle. 13. Disengage clips attaching door trim to door frame around perimeter of panel. 14. Lift trim panel upward to disengage flange from inner belt molding at top of door. 15. Tilt top of trim panel away from door to gain access to latch linkage. 16. Disengage clip attaching linkage rod to inside latch release handle. 17. Separate linkage rod from latch handle. 18. Remove front door trim panel from vehicle. INSTALLATION 1. Hold top of trim panel away from door to gain access to latch linkage. 2. Place linkage rod in position on latch handle. 3. Engage clip to hold linkage rod to inside latch release handle. 4. Place front door trim panel in position on door. 5. Install trim panel into inner belt molding at top of door. 6. Install clips to attach door trim to door frame around perimeter of panel. 7. If equipped, install screw to attach door trim to door panel behind inside latch release handle. 8. If equipped, connect power switch into wire connector. 9. Place power accessary switch in position on door trim. 10. Connect wire connector into memory seat/mirror switch and install switch into trim panel. 11. Install screws to attach accessary switch panel to door trim. 12. Install screw cover into switch panel. 13. If equipped, install window crank. 14. If equipped, install screws to attach trim panel to door inside map pocket. 15. If equipped, install screw to attach door pull cup to inner door panel. 16. If equipped, install screws to attach door assist handle to inner door panel. 17. Connect wire connector into courtesy lamp. 18. Install lamp in door trim.

Window Regulator, Power Front Door—Town Car Removal 1. CAUTION: When servicing front door power window regulator minus motor (23208), regulator cable tension must not be altered. Cable tension is preset at production. Improper adjustment may result in premature front door power window regulator failure or erratic operation. CAUTION: Be careful not to drill through the window regulator behind inner door panel. Additional repairs may be necessary. If front door window glass (21410) is in the down position and is inoperable, a through f must be taken; if front door window glass is operational, proceed to Step 2. a. Remove front door trim panel (23942) and front door trim shield (237A04). Refer to Section 01-05. b. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01. c. CAUTION: Be careful not to strike or scratch front door window glass. Remove three 1/4 inch rivets retaining window regulator electric drive (23394) to inner panel. d. Working through front access hole in inner panel, remove three screws from window regulator electric drive. e. Separate window regulator electric drive from front door power window regulator minus motor. Raise front door window glass by hand and secure using tape. f. Proceed to Step 2. 2. Remove front door window glass as outlined. 3. Disconnect window regulator electric drive wiring connector. 4. Remove two upper front door power window regulator retaining nuts. 5. NOTE: Use care not to enlarge sheet metal holes in the door inner panel. Remove two 1/4-inch rivets retaining front door power window regulator minus motor to inner door panel. 6. Remove front door power window regulator minus motor from front door (20124). Installation 1. Lubricate front door power window regulator minus motor with Teflon® Lubricant E7FZ-19590-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESB-M1C111-A as outlined. 2. Install front door power window regulator minus motor into access hole in inner panel. 3. Position front door power window regulator minus motor using upper front door power window regulator studs and tabs on window regulator electric drive mounting bracket. 4. Install rivets retaining front door power window regulator minus motor to door inner panel (1/4-20 x 1/2 inch screw and 1/4-20 nut and washer assemblies or equivalent metric fasteners may be used as alternates). 5. Install two upper front door power window regulator retaining nuts. 6. Install Front Door Window Glass as outlined. 7. Adjust Front Door Window Glass as outlined. 8. Install front door trim shield and front door trim panel. Refer to Section 01-05. Front Door—Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis Removal 1. If front door window glass is in the down position and is inoperable, the following steps must be taken; if front door window glass is operational, go to Step 2. a. Remove front door trim panel and front door trim shield. Refer to Section 01-05. b. Disconnect battery ground cable. Refer to Section 14-01. c. Disconnect window regulator electric drive wires. d. CAUTION: Be careful not to strike or scratch front door window glass because it could break. Remove window regulator electric drive retaining screws through holes. e. Remove window regulator electric drive from front door power window regulator minus motor.

NOTE: Before starting this procedure, be certain to turn the steering wheel until the front wheels are in the straight-ahead position. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove the trim from the right and left front door sills. Remove the trim from the left and right cowl side inner panels. Remove the steering column opening cover from the instrument panel. See: Steering Column Opening Cover and Knee Blocker Replacement Remove the two screws that secure the inside hood latch release handle to the instrument panel lower reinforcement and lower the release handle to the floor. Disconnect the driver side airbag module wire harness connector from the instrument panel wire harness at the instrument panel lower reinforcement. If the vehicle is so equipped, disconnect the overdrive lockout switch wire harness connector from the instrument panel wire harness near the instrument panel lower reinforcement. Remove the steering column from the vehicle, but do not remove the driver side airbag module, the steering wheel, or the switches from the steering column. Be certain that the steering wheel is locked and secured from rotation to prevent the loss of clockspring centering. Refer to Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair. See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair From under the driver side of the instrument panel, perform the following: a. Remove the screw from the center of the headlamp and dash to instrument panel bulkhead wire harness connector and disconnect the connector. b. Disconnect the two body wire harness connectors from the two instrument panel wire harness connectors that are secured to the outboard side of the instrument panel bulkhead connector. c. Disconnect the three wire harness connectors (one from the body wire harness, and two from the headlamp and dash wire harness) from the three junction block connector receptacles located closest to the dash panel. d. Unsnap the plastic retainer clip that secures the park brake release linkage rod to the lever on the back side of the park brake release handle and disengage the linkage rod end from the lever on the handle. e. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the stop lamp switch connector receptacle. f. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector located near the left end of the heater-A/C housing. Remove the center support bracket from the instrument panel. See: Instrument Panel Center Support Bracket Replacement Remove the screw that secures the instrument panel wire harness ground eyelets to the left side of the Airbag Control Module (ACM) mount on the floor panel transmission tunnel. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the ACM connector receptacle. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel. Refer to Body and Frame/Interior Trim/Glove Compartment/Service and Repair. See: Glove Compartment/Service and Repair Reaching through the instrument panel glove box opening, perform the following: a. Disconnect the two halves of the radio antenna coaxial cable connector near the center of the lower instrument panel glove box opening. b. Disengage the antenna half of the radio antenna coaxial cable from the retainer clip near the outboard side of the lower instrument panel glove box opening. c. Disconnect the blower motor wire harness connector located near the heater-A/C housing support brace on the inboard side of the instrument panel glove box opening. From under the passenger side of the instrument panel, perform the following: a. If the vehicle is so equipped, disconnect the two instrument panel wire harness connectors from the Infinity speaker amplifier connector receptacles on the right cowl side inner panel. b. Remove the nut that secures the instrument panel wire harness radio ground eyelet to the stud on the right cowl side inner panel. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15.

FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL NOTE: Driver side shown in illustration, passenger side similar. Fig. 6: Identifying Front Door Trim Panel Components 1. Remove the mirror access panel. 2. Remove the door trim panel screw located behind the mirror access panel. 3. Remove the 2 door trim panel screws located in the door pull. 4. Remove the window regulator control switch panel. Disconnect the electrical connectors. 5. Remove the door trim panel screw located beneath the window regulator control switch panel. 6. Remove the door trim panel screw located behind the mirror access panel. Remove the door trim panel screw located at the rear-most of the front door trim panel. 8. Remove the 2 hex-head screws located at the bottom of the front door trim panel. 9. Carefully raise and remove the front door trim panel. 10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Honda Odyssey & 2003-2006 Honda Pilot 2007 & 2008 Honda Pilot – Door panel removal procedures are different from previous models – see page 4. Open the driver side door and lower the window. Remove the door panel, kick panel, and plastic trim piece along the bottom of the door frame. 1) Open the driver side door and lower the window. Using a plastic pry bar, carefully remove corner trim. 2) Remove plastic cover in door release lever to reveal 2-screws. Remove these screws with a Phillips screwdriver. 3) Pry loose the control panel. Disconnect all wiring connections behind control panel and remove control panel. Remove the revealed screw behind control panel. 4) Remove screw hidden below the grab bar. Carefully pull on door panel until all snap inserts, around the perimeter of door panel, pop loose. 5) Hold door panel slightly away from door frame. Disconnect all wiring connections behind door panel. 6) Remove release lever rod from behind door panel. Remove and set aside door panel.
