1. Remove the fuel tank. 2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) line (3) from the canister.3. Reposition the EVAP canister hose clamp. 4. Remove the EVAP canister hose. 5. Disconnect the canister EVAP line from the fuel sender. 6. Squeeze the small retainer in front of the canister in order to disengage the canister. 7. Remove the EVAP canister. Installation Procedure Notice: Do not attempt to straighten kinked nylon pipes. Replace any kinked nylon pipes in order to prevent damage to the vehicle. Do not attempt to repair sections of nylon pipes. Replace damaged nylon pipes. Replace the vapor pipes with original equipment or parts that meet GM specifications. Replace the vapor hoses with original equipment or parts meeting GM specifications. Use only reinforced fuel-resistant hose identified with the word Fluoroelastomers or GM 6163M on the hose. 1. Install the EVAP canister. 2. Squeeze the small retainer in front of the canister in order to engage the canister. 3. Connect the canister EVAP line to the fuel sender. 4. Install the EVAP canister hose. 5. Position the EVAP canister hose clamp. 6. Connect the EVAP line (3) to the canister. 7. Install the fuel tank.

1. 2. 3. 4. Turn the ignition switch ON (II). Clear the DTC with the HDS. Remove the fuel fill cap for 5 seconds , then install it. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P2422 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Does the screen indicate FAILED? YES – Go to step 6. NO – If the screen indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for a poor connection or loose terminals at the EVAP canister vent shut valve and ECM/PCM. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 2 and recheck. Clear the DTC with the HDS. Remove the EVAP canister vent shut valve from the EVAP canister. Connect the 2P connector to the EVAP canister vent shut valve. Turn the ignition switch ON (II). Do the EVAP CVS ON in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. Check the EVAP canister vent shut valve (A) operation. Does the valve operate? YES – Check for a blockage in the EVAP canister, then install the EVAP canister vent shut valve, and go to step 14. NO – Go to step 12. 12. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 13. Replace the EVAP canister vent shut valve. 14. Turn the ignition switch ON (II). 15. Reset the ECM/PCM with the HDS. 16. Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure. 17. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 18. Remove the fuel fill cap for 5 seconds , then install it. 19. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle. 20. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES – If DTC P2422 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the FTP sensor or the EVAP canister vent shut valve and the ECM/PCM, then go to step 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC’s troubleshooting. NO – Go to step 21. 21. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P2422 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Does the screen indicate PASSED? YES – Troubleshooting is complete. NO – If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the FTP sensor or the EVAP canister vent shut valve and the ECM/PCM, then go to step 1. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 16 and recheck.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE CAUTION: Refer to Hoist Caution in Service Precautions. 1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting. 2. Mark the hoses for installation on the EVAP canister. 3. Remove the EVAP vent hose (1). 4. Remove the fuel tank vapor hose (2). 5. Remove the purge hose (3). 6. Remove the nuts (2) from the EVAP canister. 7. Remove the EVAP canister (1) from the bracket by releasing the tabs. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Install the EVAP canister on the bracket. 2. Install the EVAP canister assembly into the vehicle. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. 3. Assemble the EVAP canister to the underbody with the 3 nuts. Tighten Tighten the nuts to 9 Nm (80 lb in) . 4. Install the purge hose (3) to the EVAP canister. 5. Install the fuel tank vapor hose (2) to the EVAP canister. 6. Install the vent hose (1) to the EVAP canister 7. Lower the vehicle.

OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves rotating all engine exhaust valves, replacing the valve spring retainer locks with a new design to increase valve rotation at lower RPM, inspecting/replacing the MAP sensor (as necessary), and decarbonizing the combustion chamber. MODELS: 2004 – 2006 2005 – 2006 (CS) (LX) Pacifica Chrysler 300/Magnum/Charger SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may experience occasional engine misfire (rough running engine) during certain vehicle operating conditions. In addition, MIL illumination may also have occurred due to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0300 – Multiple Cylinder Misfire. Various single cylinder misfire DTC’s may also be present. If the frequency of misfire is high, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) may place the engine in “Limp-In” mode. The misfire condition may be caused by one or more engine exhaust valves that are slow to close due to a build up of carbon on the valve stem. DIAGNOSIS: 1. This condition may occur when the engine is not allowed to run at engine RPM’s that are greater than 3,500 RPM. At 5,000 RPM or higher the engine exhaust valves will rotate if not impeded by high carbon deposits. Low engine RPM’s and high carbon deposits are associated with short trip driving where the engine is not allowed to fully warm to normal engine operating temperatures. Cold ambient temperatures will increase engine warm-up time and increase the likelihood of carbon deposit build-up on the stem of the engine exhaust valve. Fuel detergent quality may also contribute to the condition; the customer may want to try a different brand of fuel. 2. Verify that the engine misfire condition is not caused by faulty engine mechanical or electrical components. 3. If the engine mechanical and electrical systems are operating properly perform the Repair Procedure.
