NOTE: If DTC P1519 is stored at same time as DTC P0505, troubleshoot DTC P1519 first, then recheck for DTC P0505. 1. Start the engine. Hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on. 2. Check the engine speed at idle with no-load conditions: headlights, blower fan, rear window defogger, radiator fan, and air conditioner off. Is the engine running at 730+/-50 rpm? YES – Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.? NO – If the idle speed is less than 680 rpm, go to step 3; if it’s 780 rpm or higher, go to step 4. 3. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve 3P connector. Does the engine speed increase or fluctuate? YES – Adjust the idle speed. If the idle will not adjust properly, clean the passage in the throttle body, and then adjust the idle.? NO – Replace the IAC valve.? 4. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 5. Remove the intake air duct from the throttle body. 6. Start the engine and let it idle. 7. Put your finger on the lower port (A) in the throttle body. Does the engine speed drop below 780 rpm? YES – Adjust the idle speed. If the idle will not adjust properly, replace the IAC valve, and then adjust the idle.? NO – With the throttle valve completely closed, check for vacuum leaks, and repair as necessary.?

A Engine 605.911 B Engine 606.910 Connect digital tester (001), TDC pulse generator (021). Check accelerator control for ease of movement. Check Idle speed stop at Bowden cable (32); the dished washer (29/7) must be resting free of tension against the compression spring (29/8). If necessary, adjust Bowden cable from inside car. Warm engine up to coolant temperature of 60 – 80°C . Engine 605.911 with pneumatic idle speed increase (PLA) Check idle speed; adjust if necessary by turning the vacuum unit (12/3). To do this, slacken lock nut (arrow). Refer to table for test data. Engine 606.910 with electronic Idle speed control (ELR) Unplug 2-pin coupling of ELR actuator (22). Check idle speed; adjust if necessary. To do this, slacken lock nut (arrow) and turn adjusting bolt (ring wrench). Refer to table for test data. To the left: higher engine speed To the right: lower engine speed All models Check smooth engine running. Operate service brake. Move selector lever into drive position. Switch on AC compressor. Turn power steering to full lock. Engine must continue to run smoothly when this is done. Test and adjustment data

Disconnect the negative battery cable! Remove the oil fill cap and set it aside. Lift straight up on the engine beauty cover and set it aside. Reinstall the oil fill cap after the beauty cover has been re- moved to prevent any foreign material from entering the crank- case. 3. Remove the four bolts that secure the throttlebody to the in- take manifold. 5. Install the provided bolts and washers thru the throttlebody and Poweraid Spacer and tighten to the manufacturer’s specifi- cations. 4. Install the Poweraid Spacer between the throttlebody and the intake manifold with the first supplied gasket next to the intake manifold, and the second supplied gasket next to the throttle- body as shown. Make sure the “flow” arrow printed on the spacer is pointing towards the intake manifold. 6. Reinstall the intake tube, tighten the two hose clamps, and reconnect the crankcase breather tube. Reinstall the beauty cover, and oil cap in the reverse order that they were removed. Re-connect the negative battery cable!
