Remove or Disconnect 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Inside handle bezel assembly. Front side door pull cup assembly. Window regulator handle, if equipped. Rearview mirror remote control (driver-side only). Trim panel screws. Trim panel by carefully prying off top of trim panel to release tabs from door inner panel. Push up and pull trim panel toward you to remove trim panel. Install or Connect 1. Rearview mirror remote control (driver-side only). 2. Position trim panel tabs and hooks to slots in door inner panel. 3. Trim panel by pressing down on top of trim panel. Important ^ Be sure to apply enough pressure to fully engage the three top tabs to the door inner panel. 4. Trim panel screws. Tighten ^ Screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb. in.). 5. Window regulator handle, if equipped. 6. Front side door pull cup assembly. 7. Inside handle bezel assembly.

Speed nut (4x) Bolt (4x) Screws (2x) Decorative panel Armrest, lower part Bolt Expanding nut (4x) Door trim – Removing: – Remove lower part of armrest – 5 -. – Remove bolts – 3 – (2x) from door trim – 8 -. – Remove bolts – 6 – from door trim – 8 -. – Unclip decorative panel – 4 -. – Remove decorative panel – 4 – toward front. – Remove bolts – 2 – (4x) from door trim – 8 -. – Unclip door trim – 8 -. – Raise door trim – 8 – upward approx. 20 cm out from door shell. Disengage Bowden cable for interior door mechanism Disconnect electrical harness connectors – Installation: Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following: – When installing, speed nuts – 1 – (4x) for expanding nuts – 7 – (4x) must be clipped in. – When installing, door trim must be pressed in the middle to door shell. Disengaging Bowden cable – Disconnect circlip – 3 -. – Pull Bowden cable – 1 – out of guide – 2 – and disengage. NOTE: When installing make sure that catch – 3 – faces upward. Harness connector at window regulator control module – Press catch – 2 – and disconnect harness connector – 3 – from control module in direction of arrow. – Disconnect harness connector to bass speaker

Removal, installation 1. Press off handle recess (3) using assembly wedge. 2. Unscrew screw (4) in the area of the interior door control 3. Unclip cover (11) and unscrew screw (12) On vehicles with front side airbag (with code 292) 4. Unscrew screw (1) on lock escutcheon (2) and remove lock escutcheon downwards 5. Press off cover (5) under armrest on door pocket and unscrew screw (6) 6. Unclip entrance lamp and disconnect electrical connection 7. Press door lining (8) off inner door panel at bottom, front and rear using assembly wedge Note: Guide each assembly wedge straight to the clips 8. Lift door lining (8) upwards off retaining clips at the top of the sealing rail using assembly wedge and at the same time pull away from the inner door panel 9. Unhook control cable on interior door control 10. Pull electrical connections off door lining (8). 11. Put down door lining (8) 12. Check films and clips on inner door panel and replace if necessary. Note: Stick door film to inner door panel 13. Check clips (9) on door lining (1) and replace if necessary 14. Install in reverse order References, Special tools

Remove the screw from behind the interior door handle Slide out the door handle trim as shown Removing the door panel from the passenger side door View of the inside of the door, panel removed 1. Remove the screw from the door handle trim. 2. Slide the handle assembly forward and out to access the lock rod clip. 3. Release the clip 4. Disconnect the door lock switch 5. Remove the door opener handle assembly. 6. Carefully pry at the small opening on the bottom of the speaker grill. 7. Remove the speaker grille.
8. Remove the speaker mounting screws. 9. Detach the electrical connector and remove the speaker. 10. Remove the screws in the armrest. 11. Remove the center from the trim clip at the upper front of the door panel and remove the
clip. 12. Using a suitable trim panel removal tool, unsnap the door panel from the door frame. 13. Carefully lift the door panel up and away from the door frame.

REMOVAL a Note: The sealing ?lm can only be used once; it is des- troyed when it is removed. It is essential to replace the ?lm with a new one each time it is removed. REMOVING THE SEALING FILM a Remove the door trim( (see Front side door trim: Removal – Refitting) (MR 393, 72A, Side opening elements trim) or( (see Rear side door trim: Remo- val – Refitting) (MR 393, 72A, Side opening ele- ments trim). a Start with the upper section of the sealing film. a Remove the heptane in small amounts between the film and the inner door panel as the film peels away (pull slowly on the sealing film). a Carefully strip off the sealing film taking care not to tear it. REFITTING a Note: Remove the adhesive residue from the inner door panel by sticking wide masking tape over the adhesive residue. Pull gently on the masking tape to remove any adhesive residue. Clean the inner door panel with heptane using a dr y, lint-free cloth. WARNING The door must be clean (free of dust, grease, anti-adhesive products), with no trace of impuri- ties and no condensation. The area of the inner door panel where the ?lm is applied must be painted completely. Adhesive surfaces should be at a minimum tem- perature of 15? in order for the ?lm to adhere pro- perly to the door. 116833 a Unclip the interior handle mounting (if the vehicle is fitted with one) using an unclipping tool. 1 – First procedure a Strip off the sealing film using a hot air gun set to ap- proximately 100? and approximately 20 cm from the film, directing the hot air flow onto the edge of the film. a Start by stripping off a corner of the sealing film. a Carefully strip off the sealing film taking care not to tear it. 2 – Second procedure a Remove the sealing film using a syringe filled with heptane. Front side door ACCESS FLAP 1 – Opening access flaps front side door 111932 Rear side door a Note: The front side door sealing ?lm incorporates two access ?aps to access the various door compo- nents and to allow the door to be straightened. Cut according to the marking on the sealing ?lm depending on the operation being performed. Depending on the operations being performed, it may be necessary to make cuts locally at the various mountings (bolts or nuts). 111945 a Position the sealing film using the guide points (1) . a Pass through the interior door handle cable (2) . a Firmly apply the film around its complete edge. a Check the water seal before refitting the door trim (see Technical Note 0653A, Bodywork fault fin- ding: Water sealing tests). a Refit the door trim( (see Front side door trim: Re- moval – Refitting) (MR 393, 72A, Side opening ele- ments trim) or( (see Rear side door trim: Removal – Refitting) (MR 393, 72A, Side opening elements trim).
