SERVICE PROCEDURE Front Door Glass Bolt Replacement Caution: Avoid hands and face being caught by the front door glass when adjusting the height of the front door glass. 1. Adjust the front door glass to align the position of the front door glass bolt with the service hole. 2. Approximately 100 mm (4 in) from the top of the front door trim board, mark off 80 mm (3 in) with tape. 3. Adjust the front door window glass to align with the tape marking. Notice: Unhook the clip before unhooking the claw to prevent breaking the bracket garnish. 4. Remove the clip and unhook the claws to remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish. Notice: Wrap protective tape around the head of the flathead screwdriver to avoid scratching the power window switch or trim board. 5. Using a flathead screwdriver with protective tape wrapped around the head, remove the six (6) clips and claws to separate the power window switch. 6. Remove the power window switch: For LH – Unlock and remove the connector. Refer to the illustration. 2092983 – For RH (with door lock switch) – Disconnect the two (2) connectors. – For RH (without door lock switch) – Disconnect the connector. 2092928 7. Remove the screw from the door pull handle, and remove the handle. Notice: Wrap protective tape around the head of the flathead screwdriver to avoid scratching the power window switch or trim board. 8. Remove the screw. 9. Remove the front door trim board. Notice: Avoid damaging the inside handle when removing the trim board. 10. Remove the eight (8) clips and remove the trim board. Notice: Pull the service cover up carefully to avoid damaging the service cover. Notice: Do not allow butyl tape to adhere to any parts. 11. Pull up on the service hole cover until the bolt for the front door glass is visible, and then secure the cover in place with tape.

Use this bulletin If, based on preliminary diagnosis, the technician feels that an adjustment and/or alignment of the door(s) will correct the customer complaint or if the vehicle displays an issue where the following labor codes would be used: B4000/B4001 (Front Side Door Adjustment – LH & RH) and/or B4400/B4401 (Rear Side Door Up/Down Adjustment – LH & RH). Cause GM Engineering is attempting to determine the “root cause” for the concern with side door alignment. GM Engineering has a need to obtain information first-hand during the diagnosis and repair. As a result, this information will be used by engineering to “root cause” the customer’s concern and develop a field fix. Removal Procedure 1. Open the door. 2. Remove the front door trim plate. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement () . 3. Remove the front door manual window regulator handle if equipped. Refer to Window Regulator Handle Replacement – Door Remove the armrest screws. Route the electrical harness through the front door trim panel opening. Use J 38778 in order to remove the front door trim panel from the door. Use J 38778 in order to pry the front door trim panel from the door frame at the window seal. 8. Remove the front door trim panel from the door. 4. 5. 6. 7. Installation Procedure 1. Install the front door trim panel to the front door. 2. Place the window seal portion of the panel over the door frame. 3. Route the electrical harness through the front door trim panel opening and into place. 4. Align the front door trim panel retainers to the holes in the door metal. 5. Firmly press the front door trim panel to the door metal in order to seat the retainers. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. 6. Install the armrest screws. Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (26 lb in). 7. Install the front door manual window regulator handle if equipped. Refer to Window Regulator Handle Replacement – Door 8. Install the door trim plate. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement () . 9. Close the door.
