Removing Main Headlight WARNING: Risk of destruction of electrical and electronic components: Before removing the headlights, take out the ignition key and switch off the lights. Risk of damage to the headlights due to: Abrasion and excessive temperatures. Headlights must not be covered when they are switched on, e.g. wing protection or film. NOTE: The description refers to the left headlight.Press down the cover “1″ in the engine compartment and remove it. 2. Slide a socket wrench “5″ on the release arm and release it in the direction of arrow “A”. 3. The headlight is now unlocked and can be pulled forward out of the wing. NOTE: If the Bi-Xenon main headlight is replaced, the control unit must be installed for the gas discharge from the old to the new main headlights. Installing Main Headlights NOTE: Do not attach any covers (e.g. stone shields or films) in the area of the headlights. Switch ignition off and remove ignition key. The description refers to the left headlight. “2″ Cover. “3″ Headlight release. “4″ Fender. 1. Insert the headlight into the guide rails and push it fully into the fender. 2. Press the headlight towards the rear and, at the same time, turn the socket wrench “5″ “arrow B”. The headlight locking mechanism must lock in audibly and noticeably. 3. Check that the headlights fit properly, e.g., by pulling gently in the area of the auxiliary high beam headlight.

NB These instructions are a guide on how to remove and re-fit an electric window mechanism and are not intended to be complete. It was written some time after the job was done and some improvisation will be needed. 1. Removing the door panel Pop off the door handle trim screw cover with a small flathead screw driver, then remove the screw behind with a torx bit Tools required :
T30 Torx Bit Small flathead screwdriver Remove the triangular plastic trim located just off the picture by prying gently with a screwdriver to first loosen, then use your hands to work it out. Locate the lower door panel screws as circled in the picture.

Tools you need: • Torx T-20 • Socket wrench size M10 • Small screwdriver • Chalk or pencil (if you want to put some marks on the bodykit to fix it exactly as it was) • A bucket to store the washer fluid (remember: it might be upto 6.5 liters!) • Old soft blankets, wood blocks or a friend to lend a helping hand to avoid scratches to the bumper pain Removing the bumper • Open the bonnet and you will see first it is necessary to remove the front plastic grill. Remove the front grill by removing the black plastic clips inside the engine bay. Show below left. Do this by turning them ? turn left and then lift up by the centre If you have fog lamps you can disconnect the wires. If you have Xenon lamps you have a headlight cleaning unit, disconnect the hose from the bumper, have the bucket close to hand to catch the washer fluid as it empties. • Now the bumper should be successfully be removed

Safety precautions Always cut the current to the headlamps before replacing the lamps. Do not touch the high and low beam stalk during work due to the high voltage and risk of explosion. Remove the keys and lock the car. Allow the lamp to cool. Use protective goggles and gloves when replacing the lamp. The glass body of the Bi-Xenon-lamp is filled with different gases and metal vapors which are under pressure. Never touch the glass body of the lamp. Only touch the lamp at the socket. Remove any finger prints from the glass using a cloth and alcohol. The lamp must only be used in enclosed headlamps. The replaced Bi-Xenon lamp must be treated as hazardous waste and must be sent for recycling. Removing the ballast On the right-hand side remove the windshield washer fluid filler pipe for better access Remove the screws for the filler pipe for the windshield washer fluid reservoir Pull the pipe from the reservoir and remove the hose Place paper over the hole Slacken off the six screws. Use Torx 20 with holes. Fold out the cable from the ballast. Disconnect the connector from the Bi-Xenon lamp.
