Valve timing procedures Valve timing procedures Ensure crankshaft at TDC on No.1 cylinder. Ensure crankshaft pulley timing mark aligned with 0° timing mark on chain cover . Ensure notch on camshaft points upwards . If notch not visible, turn crankshaft one more turn. Install timing gears as follows: Ensure crankshaft gear and intermediate shaft gear timing marks aligned . Install LH balancer shaft . Ensure timing marks on intermediate shaft gears and LH balancer shaft gear aligned  & . Ensure RH balancer shaft gear and oil pump gear timing marks aligned . Install oil pump housing complete with RH balancer shaft. Ensure timing marks on oil pump gear and crankshaft gear aligned . Install injection pump as follows  : Ensure notch on injection pump gear aligned with mark ‘T’ on flange . During installation of injection pump: Notch on gear moves in direction of arrow. Install timing chain as follows:

Function The original intercooler for the L200 is quite small. Because of this the cooling capacity is low and the pressure drop is considerable. When increasing the power output of the L200 engine the boost air temperature must be kept as low as possible, while it has a great influence in performance as well as engine durability. Charge air cooling also has a positive effect on exhaust emissions from diesel engines. The pressure drop through the charge air cooler lowers the air mass flow trough the engine. To maximize air mass flow is essential to increase performance. The sttemtec charge air cooler upgrade maximizes the cooling capacity and minimizes the pressure drop of the charge air cooler without any negative effects of the vehicle. List of content 1. The heater-A/C housing assembly must be removed from the vehicle and disassembled for service access of the blower motor, blower motor wheel, heater core, evaporator coil, blend-air door, and each of the various mode control doors. WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIR-BAGS, FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIR-BAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY. REMOVAL 1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. 2. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle. Refer to: Body and Frame, Interior Trim, Dashboard/Instrument Panel, Service and Repair, Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement, See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement 3. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Refer to: Heating and Air Conditioning, Service and Repair, Refrigerant Recovery, See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant Recovery 4. Remove the front expansion valve from the evaporator tube mounting flange. Install plugs in, or tape over all of the opened refrigerant line fittings. Refer to: Heating and Air Conditioning, Expansion valve, Service and Repair, Expansion Valve Removal and Installation, See: Expansion Valve/Service and Repair 5. Drain the engine cooling system. 6. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes.

ACTION An axle repair kit has been developed which incorporates most parts required for a comprehensive axle repair. The kit should be used instead of installing a complete axle assembly to repair an axle whine/hum. Replace Ring and Pinion with Axle Kit and Components. NOTE REFER TO THE “DIFFERENTIAL RING AND PINION” IN-VEHICLE REPAIR PROCEDURE IN THE ONLINE WORKSHOP MANUAL SECTION 205-00, FOR THE LATEST AXLE DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR PROCEDURES.
