AR68.20-P-2020GI Remove/Install Rear Center Console – Models 163.154/174 #A as of 289565 – Models 163.157/175 (all) Remove/Install 1 Remove armrest lid (1) 2 Remove stowage box in the center console NOTE: Press the center pin approx. 4 mm downwards, then remove the rivet upwards 3 Remove screws (2) on the cup holder 4 Remove inner part of ashtray 5 Remove ashtray trim (3) CAUTION: Risk of breaking the clips (4) NOTE: Loosen clips (4) and pull back the lower edge of the cover and remove upwards 6 Remove screws (5) 7 Unclip rear center console (6) above (arrows) Long wedge: See Special Tools below. 8 Remove rear center console (6) from the center console 9 Disconnect plug from control module of rear control panel and ashtray NOTE: Disconnect plug of the rear ashtray from ashtray housing 10 Install in the reverse order Special Tools Long Wedge P/N # 115 589 03 59 00

Note: The procedure for removing and installing the Emergency flasher switch -E3- Rear window defogger switch -E15- Seat heater regulator switches (modules -J131- and -J132-) is essentially the same for all switches. Removing the emergency flasher switch -E3- is illustrated below. Removing CAUTION! Switch off all electrical consumers. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key. CAUTION! Be careful not to damage instrument panel center console trim when removing switch. Protect trim in area of switch with adhesive tape before removing switch. Do Not pry out switches from the side. Only pull out from the top. Carefully loosen and remove switch faceplate using a plastic wedge tool (locally available) or wrapped screwdriver. Using pliers, grasp switch at the top of the frame as illustrated and carefully pull switch from opening. Disconnect electrical connection. Installing Connect electrical connection. Insert switch into opening and push in to engage. Install switch faceplate. Switch blanks, removing Using a plastic wedge tool (locally available) or wrapped screwdriver, carefully pry out blank from the side as illustrated.

When removing the side wall of the center console panel during service, care must be taken and proper sequence must be followed or the clips and/or hooks on the side wall may break requiring replacement of the side wall. For proper removal of the sidewall, please refer to the following procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE When removing the side wall(s) of the center console during servicing, care must be taken and the proper pro- cedure must be followed or the clips and/or hooks on the side wall(s) may be broken, requiring unnecessary replacement of the side wall(s). CAUTION: 1. Using a plastic windshield setting tool or equivalent insert between side wall and center panel, then carefully pry rearward (toward rear of vehicle) to disengage clips and hooks. • DO NOT forcibly pull the side wall outward (to the side), to prevent damage. NOTE: • Plastic Windshield Setting Tool (Part Number IS742 – available from Equalizer at 800-334-1334) or similar available through a local supplier. If a flat-tipped screwdriver is to be used, wrap the tip in tape to prevent damage to the center console or the shift panel. • PLASTIC WINDSHIELD SETTING TOOL 1501a 2. Carefully pull the side wall rearward to disengage pins “C” and remove. 3. To install, place pins “C” in place and slide forward (toward front of vehicle) until clips “A”, “B” and hook “D” engage.

Special Tools Required KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 Without Console Armrest NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts. 1. Detach the clips (A, B) by pulling the center console box (C) up, and removing it from the center console (D). 2. M/T model: Remove the shift knob (A). 3. Remove the screws (A, B) and clips (C), and remove the center console (D). 4. Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Replace any damaged clips. Push the clips into place securely. With Console Armrest NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts. 1. M/T model: Remove the shift knob (A).

Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. 1. M/T model: Remove the shift knob (A). -1 Lower the shift lever boot (B) to release the hooks (C) from the knob. 2. Detach the clips (A, B) by pulling the center console front panel (C) up. If equipped, disconnect the seat heater switch connectors (D). 3. Pry up on the right of the console pocket (A) with a trim tool, and detach the clips, then remove the pocket. 4. Remove the screws (A), detach the clips (B) and hook (C) by pulling the center holder (D) up, and disconnect the front accessory power socket connector (E). 5. Detach the clips (A, B) by pulling the center console rear panel (C) up. 6. Remove the center console (A). -1 Open the console box lid (B) then remove the console mat (C). -2 If equipped, disconnect the rear accessory power socket connector (D), and detach the clip (E). -3 Remove the screws (F, G), then pull the rear portion of the console up to release the hooks (H), then remove
