2004 model year Sienna vehicles may experience power sliding door inoperative conditions. A new Power Slide Door Motor, Center Bracket No. 1, and Center Hinge have been made available to improve the durability of this system. Repair Procedure Remove Power Slide Door Motor, Cable Assembly, and Center Hinge. Remove Slide Door Window Garnish. A. Fully open the slide door window. B. Remove the glass run. C. Using a screwdriver, disengage the clip and remove the garnish. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. D. Using the taped screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the inner weatherstrip from the garnish. Repair Procedure (Continued) 2. Remove Side Trim Board Cover Rear. A. Remove the 2 screws. B. Using the taped screwdriver, disengage the 8 claws and remove the cover together with the window control switch. C. Remove the 2 screws and window control switch. 3. Remove Rear Door Trim Board Sub–assembly. A. Remove the screw. B. Using the taped screwdriver, disengage the 9 clips and remove the trim board. HINT: In order to prevent the door panel from being damaged, cover the areas with protective tape as indicated by the arrows in the illustration. 4. Remove Rail End Molding. A. Open the quarter glass. B. Using the taped screwdriver, disengage the clip and 2 claws, and remove the rail end molding.

2001 – 2006 Toyota Sequoia BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW INOPERATIVE

Some 2001 – 2006 model year Sequoia vehicles may experience a condition where the back door power window of the vehicle is inoperative/stuck in the closed position. The following procedure has been developed to address this condition. S 2001 – 2006 model year Sequoia vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below. Repair Procedure 2. Open the back door and leave open. 3. Using the plastic pry tool, remove the back door garnish center. 4. Using the plastic pry tool, remove the left and right back door side garnish panels. Repair Procedure (Continued) 5. Remove the strap cover, bolt, and pull strap. NOTE: To remove the strap cover, push it toward the back door window as shown in the illustration. 6. Remove the back door trim board. A. Insert the plastic pry tool between the back door trim board to release the clips retaining the back door trim. NOTE: Be careful NOT to damage the back door and back door trim board. B. Release each clip as shown in the illustration. 7. Disconnect both connectors to the back door ECU and both clips holding the wire harness to the large service cover. 8. Remove both of the back door service hole covers. S For 2001 – 2004 model year Sequoia vehicles, go to step 11. S For 2005 – 2006 model year Sequoia vehicles, continue to step 9. 9. For 2005 – 2006 model year Sequoia vehicles ONLY: Remove the multiplex network door ECU. Using a drill of less than 3.2 mm (0.126 in.), drill out the two (2) rivet heads.

Remove lower frame bracket garnish : Using a screwdriver, remove the lower frame bracket garnish.

REMOVE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (a) Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector. (b) Disconnect the clamp from the No.3 timing belt cover. (c) Remove the bolt and camshaft position sensor. 18. REMOVE NO.3 TIMING BELT COVER Remove the 6 bolts and timing belt cover. 19. REMOVE GENERATOR (See page CH–15)
