Oxygen (O2) Sensors Defective Thermostat Tech Tips: If engine is running too cold, the oxygen sensors will not be enabled by powertrain control module and the allowed time to run the monitor for oxygen sensors will expire, setting the DTC with no other specific fault with the oxygen sensor. 3. If there is no voltage then test for voltage between terminal 1 of the vehicle harness and vehicle ground. Specification with the vehicle running is battery voltage. If voltage specified is not obtained then check the wiring from terminal 1 to the fuel pump relay using available wiring diagrams. 4. If voltage is as specified then test voltage between the vehicle harness terminal 2 and battery positive. Specification with the vehicle running is battery voltage. If specified voltage is not obtained then inspect the wiring between the O2 harness terminal 2 and Engine Control Module (ECM) terminal 5 for open circuit.
