REMOVAL PROCEDURE 1. Remove the trim panel upper extension. 2. 3. 4. 5. Remove the insulator, if equipped. Remove the front door trim panel. Remove the water deflector. Disconnect the mirror wiring harness from the door. 6. Remove the nuts securing the outside mirror to the door. 7. Remove the mirror from the door. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Install the outside mirror to the door. Press the mirror into place. 2. Install the nuts in order to secure the outside mirror to the door. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Tighten Tighten the outside mirror nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in). 3. Connect the mirror wiring harness to the door. 4. Install the water deflector.

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting. 2. Place a drain pan under the transmission oil pan. 3. Remove the oil pan drain plug 4. Remove the oil pan bolts. 5. Remove the oil pan and the gasket 6. Remove the fluid filter and the seal. 7. Retain the seal for reuse. Installation Procedure ^ Tools Required – J36850 Transmission Assembly Lubricant 1. Coat the seal with a small amount of J36850, or equivalent. 2. Install the new filter neck seal into the transmission case 3. Install the filter into the case. 4. Install the oil pan and a new gasket. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Removal Procedure Caution: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Service Precautions. 1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Air Bag Systems. 2. Ensure the turn signal lever on the multifunction switch is in the neutral position or the OFF position. 3. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators. 4. Loosen the steering column bracket nuts. 5. Remove the steering column upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement – On Vehicle. 6. Remove the 2 wire harness straps from the steering column wire harness. 7. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer from the auto trans shift lock control. 8. Disconnect the steering column bulkhead connector from the vehicle wire harness. 9. Disconnect the gray and the black connectors of the switch from the column bulkhead connector. 10. Remove the 2 TORX head screws from the multifunction switch. 11. Remove the multifunction turn signal/hazard switch. Installation Procedure

REMOVAL PROCEDURE CAUTION: Refer to Air Bag Systems Service Precautions. 1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. 2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to unlock the steering wheel. 3. Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees from the straight-ahead position in order to gain access to the access holes behind the steering wheel. 4. Insert a screwdriver into each access hole and push the leaf spring to release the pin that retains the inflator module. 5. Turn the steering wheel 180 degrees in order to gain access to the remaining access holes. 6. Insert a screwdriver into each access holes and push the leaf spring to release the pin that retains the inflator module. 7. Tilt the top of the inflator module rearward to gain access to the SIR wiring. 8. Disconnect the SIR lead wire from the clip on the inflator module. 9. Disconnect the SIR lead wire from the clip on the steering wheel. 10. Disconnect the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE 1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions. 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 3. Remove the intake manifold assembly. 4. Remove the fuel injector electrical connectors by pushing in the wire connector clip and pulling the electrical connector away from the fuel injector. 5. Remove the fuel feed inlet pipe at the rail (2). 6. Remove the fuel rail attaching bolts. 7. Lift the fuel rail assembly from the cylinder head. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE IMPORTANT: Lubricate the fuel injector O-rings with clear engine oil before installation. 1. Insert the fuel rail into the cylinder head. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. 2. Install the fuel rail attaching bolts. Tighten Tighten the fuel rail attaching bolts to 24 N.m (18 lbs ft) . 3. Install the fuel feed inlet pipe to the fuel rail (2). IMPORTANT: Rotate the fuel injectors as required to avoid stretching the wire harness. 4. Install the fuel injector electrical connectors. 5. Install the intake manifold assembly. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions. 6. Reconnect negative battery cable. 7. Inspect for fuel leaks through the following steps: 7.1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds . 7.2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds . 7.3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. 7.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
