1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01. 2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to Section 303-12. 3. Remove the accelerator cable snow shield. 4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the speed control actuator cable (if equipped) and position aside. 5. Loosen the bolt and slide the engine control wiring connector off the bracket. 6. NOTE: Spark plug wires must be connected to the correct ignition coil terminal. Mark spark plug wires before removing them. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil. 7. Disconnect the ignition coil and the radio ignition interference capacitor electrical connectors. 8. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. 9. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) electrical connector. 10. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose, the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose, and the vacuum hose. 11. Disconnect the canister purge line from the throttle body. 12. Remove the nuts.

IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REMOVAL 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. 2. Remove the instrument panel lower panel. 1 Remove the screws. 2 Release the fastener. 3. Detach the steering column upper shroud. Using a thin bladed screwdriver, release the two clips (one each side). 4. Remove the audio control switch (if equipped). 1 Using a thin bladed screwdriver, release the locking tang. 2 Disconnect the electrical connector. 5. Remove the steering column lower shroud. 1 Release the steering column locking lever. 2 Remove the screws. Remove the ignition key. 6. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. 1 Insert and turn the ignition key to position I (Accessory). 2 Using a thin bladed screwdriver, depress the detent. 3 Remove the lock cylinder. INSTALLATION 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. 2. Remove the accessory drive belt. 3. Remove the generator electrical connector cover. 4. Disconnect the generator electrical connectors. 5. Remove the coolant expansion tank bolt. 6. Detach the coolant expansion tank from the clip and secure to one side. 7. Detach the power steering reservoir and secure to one side. Detach the engine wiring loom bracket and secure to one side. 10. Detach the evaporative emission canister purge valve and secure to one side. 12. Unscrew the bolt fully. NOTE: The bolt must be fully disengaged from the

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (See: Battery Cable\Service and Repair). 2. Disconnect the body wiring harness electrical connector (3) from the battery current sensor (2). 3. Disconnect the body wiring harness electrical connector (4) from the negative battery cable electrical connector (1). 4. Disconnect the body wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the positive battery cable electrical connector (3). 5. Open the positive battery cable cover (2). 6. Loosen the positive battery cable terminal nut. 7. Remove the positive battery cable terminal from the battery positive terminal and reposition the cable out of the way. 8. Remove the battery vent hose grommet (1) from the battery box. 9. Remove the battery hold down bolt (2). 10. Remove the battery hold down (3). 11. Remove the battery (1). 12. Remove the battery vent hose (1) from the battery, if required. Installation Procedure

Removal Procedure 1. If necessary, remove the engine sight shield.2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector (1).3. Using J41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor. Installation Procedure 1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent, to the threads of the oil pressure sensor.2. Using J41712 or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor. Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).3. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector (1). 4. If necessary, install the engine sight shield.
