Speed nut (4x) Bolt (4x) Screws (2x) Decorative panel Armrest, lower part Bolt Expanding nut (4x) Door trim – Removing: – Remove lower part of armrest – 5 -. – Remove bolts – 3 – (2x) from door trim – 8 -. – Remove bolts – 6 – from door trim – 8 -. – Unclip decorative panel – 4 -. – Remove decorative panel – 4 – toward front. – Remove bolts – 2 – (4x) from door trim – 8 -. – Unclip door trim – 8 -. – Raise door trim – 8 – upward approx. 20 cm out from door shell. Disengage Bowden cable for interior door mechanism Disconnect electrical harness connectors – Installation: Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following: – When installing, speed nuts – 1 – (4x) for expanding nuts – 7 – (4x) must be clipped in. – When installing, door trim must be pressed in the middle to door shell. Disengaging Bowden cable – Disconnect circlip – 3 -. – Pull Bowden cable – 1 – out of guide – 2 – and disengage. NOTE: When installing make sure that catch – 3 – faces upward. Harness connector at window regulator control module – Press catch – 2 – and disconnect harness connector – 3 – from control module in direction of arrow. – Disconnect harness connector to bass speaker

A design change was made to the front door side window regulator assembly installed on vehicles built after and including VIN SZ148736. Since the 2nd design regulator installs differently, the inner door panel has also been revised. This article describes the installation procedure to install a new 2nd design regulator into a 1st design door. 1. Remove inner and outer door trim panels. 2. Lower door glass. Remove front side door window regulator nuts with tool SA9148B. Push glass up and rotate slightly. Remove door glass. 3. On vehicles equipped with a power front side door window regulator, disconnect electrical harness connector. 4. Remove front side door window regulator assembly cam bolts. Drill out rivets and remove front side door window regulator assembly. 5. Place inner panel cam (rear of new front side door window regulator assembly) into opening in inner door panel, before riveting front side door window regulator assembly into place. 6. Position front side door window regulator assembly backplate to inner door panel and install rivets.

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions. 1. If equipped with side air bags, disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 in SIR. 2. Move the seat to the full rearward position. Remove the front seat nut cover (3), if equipped. 3. Remove the seat retaining front nuts (2). 4. Move the seat to the full forward position in order to remove the seat retaining rear bolts (1). 5. Disconnect the electrical harness, if equipped. 6. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Installation Procedure 1. Position the seat in the vehicle. 2. Connect the electrical harness, if equipped. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. 3. Move the seat to the full forward position in order to install the seat retaining rear bolts (1). Tighten the retaining rear bolts to 55 N.m (41 lb ft). 4. Install the front seat adjuster bolt cover (3), if equipped. 5. Move the seat to the full rearward position and install the seat retaining front nuts (2). Tighten the nuts to 55 N.m (41 lb ft). 6. If equipped with side air bags, enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 in SIR.

Trim Panel Replacement – Side Front Door (Rendezvous) Tools Required J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover Removal Procedure 1. Open the door. 2. Disconnect the power window switch assembly. 3. Remove the screws from the front door trim panel 4. Use the J 38778 to remove the trim panel. 1. Reposition the electrical harness connectors. 2. Remove the trim panel from the vehicle. Installation Procedure Important: Before installing the front door trim panel, discard the old trim panel retainers and replace with NEW trim panel retainers. 1. Install the new retainers to the front door trim panel. 2. Route the electrical connectors through the trim panel. 3. Align the trim panel to the door inner panel, guiding the door handle through the trim panel. 4. Install the upper edge of the trim panel to the top edge of the inner door panel, pressing down firmly until the trim panel is fully seated. 5. Install the trim panel by firmly pressing the retainer clips until the clips are fully seated around the perimeter of the trim panel. Notice: Refer to Fastener

Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair Crankshaft Position Sensor Crankshaft Position Sensor The crankshaft position sensor is mounted to the transmission bellhousing at the left/rear side of engine block. This engines have the sensor attached with two bolts. REMOVAL Some model/engine combinations may require removal of air cleaner tubes for access to sensor. 1. Remove air cleaner tube(s) at throttle body (if necessary). 2. Near rear of intake manifold, disconnect pigtail harness (electrical connector) from main electrical harness. 3. Depending upon application, remove either sensor mounting bolts or nuts. 4. Remove sensor. INSTALLATION 1. Install sensor flush against opening in transmission housing. 2. 2.5L engines equipped with automatic transmission: Install and tighten two sensor mounting nuts to 19 N.m (14 ft. lbs.) torque. 3. Install and tighten two sensor mounting bolts to 19 N.m (14 ft. lbs.) torque. The two sensor mounting bolts are specially machined to correctly space unit to flywheel. Do not attempt to install any other bolts. 4. Connect sensor pigtail harness electrical connector to main wiring harness
