1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-00. 2. If removing the upper front bumper, remove the headlights. For additional information, refer to Section 417-01. To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps: 3. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Item 3: Bolt Removal Note 1. Discard the 3 bolts after removal (install new bolts during installation) 2. Remove the LH bolt and grille stopper. 3. Remove the RH bolt and position aside the grille stopper. Item 10: Upper Front Bumper Removal Note 1. If equipped with wheel lip mouldings, remove the 4 nuts. 2. Remove the six pin-type fasteners. 3. Remove the 4 screws. 4. Position aside the splash shield. 5. Disconnect the 6 moulding clips. 6. Position aside the wheel lip mouldings. 7. Release the fascia retaining clips. Item 12: Fog Lamp Electrical Connector Removal Note 1. Detach the harness push pin from the fog lamp bracket. Item 13: Bumper Nut Removal Note 1. Discard the bumper nuts after removal (install new bumper nuts during installation). Item 15: Valance Panel Removal Note 1. If equipped, remove the fog lamps. For additional information, refer to Section 417-01. Item 17: License Plate Bracket Removal Note 1. Depress the tabs to release the bracket.

Removal 1. Remove the A-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to A-Pillar Trim Panel in this section. 2. Reposition the B-pillar trim panels. For additional information, refer to B-Pillar Trim Panel — SuperCab in this section. 3. Remove the driver seat headrest. 4. Open the garment hook screw covers. 5. Remove the garment hook screws and remove the garment hooks. 6. Remove the overhead console. For additional information, refer to Section 501-12. 7. Remove the LH and RH sun visors. Remove the sun visor retainer screws. Reposition headliner and disconnect electrical connector. 8. Remove the sun visor clip screws and remove the sun visor clips. 9. Remove the rear door latch cover screws and remove the rear door latch covers. 10. Remove the headliner pin-type retainers. 11. If equipped, disconnect the mirror electrical connector and the rain sensor. 12. Disconnect the headliner electrical connectors.13. Rotate the front of the headliner towards the driver door. 14. Remove the headliner through the driver door. Installation 1. Position the headliner in the vehicle so that the sun visor and coat hook openings are aligned. 2. Install the LH and RH sun visors. Reposition headliner and connect electrical connector. Install the sun visor retainer screws. 3. Install the sun visor clip and sun visor clip screws. 4. Install the garment hooks and garment hook screws. 5. Close the garment hook screw covers.

Outside Rear View, Manual Removal 1. Remove the front door trim panel; refer to Section 501-05 . 2. Remove the rear view mirror mounting hole cover (17K709). 3. Remove the outside rear view mirror. 1. Remove the three outside rear view mirror nuts. 2. Remove the outside rear view mirror. Installation 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Outside Rear View, Power Removal 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301). 2. Remove the front door trim panel; refer to Section 501-05 . 3. Remove the outside rear view mirror trim cover. 4. Remove the outside rear view mirror. 1. Disconnect the power mirror electrical connector. 2. Disconnect the power mirror wiring clips. 3. Remove the three outside rear view mirror nuts. 4. Remove the outside rear view mirror. Feed the power mirror wiring through the opening in the front door (20124). Installation 1. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

WARNING: The evaporative emissions system contains fuel vapor and condensed fuel vapor. Although not present in large quantities, it still presents the danger of explosion or fire. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery to minimize the possibility of an electrical spark occurring, possibly causing a fire or explosion if fuel vapor or liquid fuel are present in the area. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury. WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury. 1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-00. 2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-00. 3. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustrations and tables. To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps: Items 2, 5 and 13: Quick Connect Fitting Removal Note 1. CAUTION: Fuel injection equipment is manufactured to very precise tolerances and fine clearances. It is therefore essential that absolute cleanliness is observed when working with these components. Always install blanking plugs to any open orifices or tubes. CAUTION: When reusing liquid or vapor tube connectors, make sure to use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the connector retaining clip area before separating from the tube. Disconnect the quick release fitting.

1. Remove the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid and the shift solenoid. 1. Remove the retaining bolt. 2. Remove the shift solenoid. 3. Remove the TCC solenoid. 2. Remove the 2 reinforcement plates. 1. Remove the bolts. 2. Remove the plates. 3. Remove the separator plate and discard the gaskets. 4. NOTE: Note the location of the eight coasting booster valve shuttle balls for assembly. Remove the 8 coasting booster valve shuttle balls. 5. Remove the converter drain back valve and solenoid pressure supply screen. 6. Remove the main control valve body cover plate. 1. Remove the 13 main control valve body cover plate bolts. 2. Remove the main control valve body cover plate. Assembly NOTE: Inspect the shift solenoid O-rings and TCC solenoid O-rings for damage. 1. Install the valve body cover plate. 1. Position the valve body cover plate gasket and cover plate. 2. Loosely install the 2 guide pin bolts. 3. Loosely install the remaining bolts. 2. Tighten all the bolts in the sequence shown. 3. Install the 8 coasting booster valve shuttle balls.
