2007 – 2008 model year North American Production Camry and Camry HV vehicles may complain of a creaking noise from the front passenger side of the vehicle. This condition may occur when the body ?exes while driving on rough roads, over speed bumps, under harsh turns or heavy braking conditions. Use the following repair procedure to address this concern. Repair Procedure 1. Remove cool air intake duct seal (for 2GR-FE). A. Remove the 7 clips and cool air intake duct seal. 2. Remove the front bumper assembly. A. Put protective tape around the front bumper assembly. NOTE Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side. B. Using a screwdriver, turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the pin hold clip. NOTE Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side. C. Remove the 8 screws, 2 clips, 2 radiator grille protectors, and bolt. D. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side. E. Without fog lights: Remove the front bumper assembly. NOTE For vehicles with fog lights: Disconnect each connector, and then remove the front bumper assembly. 3. Remove RH headlight assembly. A. Remove the bolt and 2 screws. B. Disconnect the connectors and remove the headlight assembly. 4. Remove RH rocker panel molding. A. Remove the 2 screws and rocker panel molding protector. B. Put protective tape around the rocker panel molding. Figure 8. 1 Protective Tape C. Remove the 2 screws and grommet. D. Remove the screw. E. Remove the 7 clips. F. Remove the 2 screws. G. Disengage the 8 clips and remove the rocker panel molding. 5. Remove cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly. A. Remove the nut, front wiper arm, and blade assembly LH. B. Remove the nut, front wiper arm, and blade assembly RH. C. Disengage the claw and remove the front fender to cowl side seal LH.

2007–2008 Honda CR-V Windshield Washer Pump Does Not Work

SYMPTOM The windshield washer pump does not work. PROBABLE CAUSE Impact to the front bumper pushes the bumper back far enough to break the washer pump hose fitting. CORRECTIVE ACTION Replace the windshield washer reservoir and washer motor with updated parts. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I) to unlock the steering column. 2. Raise the vehicle on a lift. 3. Remove the right front inner fender. Unhook and pull back the bumper for better access. CLIPS (6 places.) SCREWS (6 places.) RIGHT FRONT INNER FENDER 4. Release the hooks on the upper right side of the front bumper. 5. Remove the clip from the filler neck, then remove the filler neck. FILLER NECK CLIP WINDSHIELD WASHER RESERVOIR CLIP WASHER MOTOR CONNECTOR BOLT BOLTS WASHER TUBES 6. Remove the right front fender trim, and disconnect the washer hose from the 90-degree fitting. CLIP FRONT FENDER TRIM FRONT HOSE 7. Disconnect the 2P connector and the two washer tubes from the washer motor. 8. Remove the washer reservoir clip and the three bolts, then pull out the reservoir. 9. Assemble the new reservoir components, but do not install the filler neck. 10. Trim 85 mm off the end of the 1,260 mm washer tube only. 11. Route the washer tubes on the reservoir. NOTE: The black fitting is for the front windshield nozzles, and the white fitting is for the rear nozzle. 85 mm 12. Install the reservoir. 13. Connect the rear tube to the straight fitting in the wheelwell. 14. Connect the 2P connector to the washer motor. NEW RESERVOIR Connect the rear washer tube. CLIP BOLT 9.8 N•m (7.2 lb•ft) 15. Install the filler neck with the original clip. Connect the front washer tube to the 90-degree fitting. Then reinstall the front fender trim. CAUTION: Halogen headlights can become very hot in use, do not touch them or the attaching hardware immediately after they have been turned off. Do not try to replace or clean the headlights with the lights on. 1. Disconnect the 2-P connectors from the each bulb. Before disconnecting right side connector, remove the battery and the coolant reservoir. 2. Turn the retaining ring nut to the OPEN position, then remove the bulb. 3. Remove the screw and the side marker light, then disconnect the 2-P connectors. 4. Remove the front grille and the front bumper. 5. Remove the 5 mount bolts, then remove the unit. 6. After installing the unit, adjust the headlights to local requirements.

Removing Cylinder head installed Remove noise insulation panel -arrows-. Remove front bumper => Repair Manual, Body Exterior, Repair Group 63 Move lock carrier to service position => Repair Manual, Body Exterior, Repair Group 50 Remove ribbed belt => Page 13-1. Remove toothed belt => Page 13-4. Left cylinder head Remove left-hand cylinder head cover => Page 15-22. Right cylinder head Remove right-hand cylinder head cover => Page 15-25 All: Unbolt Hall sensor housing (10 Nm). Remove bolt securing Hall sensor rotor (20 Nm) and carefully lever off rotor using a screwdriver. Insert camshaft clamp 3391 in securing plates of two camshafts. Loosen both camshaft bolts and remove approx. 5 turns. Take out camshaft clamp 3391. Pull off both camshaft sprockets with special tool T40001. Using a screwdriver, carefully pry oil feed lines for camshaft bearings out of camshaft bearings. Make sure that the retaining catches do not break off when prying out the oil lines. Secure camshaft adjuster using retainer for chain tensioner 3366. Note: Do not over tighten retainer for chain tensioner, otherwise camshaft adjuster can be damaged. Check TDC position of camshafts once again. Note: The two markings on the camshafts must be in line with the two arrows on the bearing caps. Clean drive chain and camshaft chain sprockets in vicinity of arrows on bearing caps and mark position of chain on sprockets with paint opposite two arrows. Note: The distance between the two arrows (and thus between the paint markings) is 16 rollers on the chain. The notch on the exhaust camshaft is offset slightly towards the inside in relation to chain roller -1-. Do not mark the chain with a center punch or by making a notch or similar.

Note: All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations. Remove engine without transmission toward the front. Drained coolant must be stored in a clean container for disposal or reuse. Always replace seals and gaskets. Do not open coolant circulation system. Removing First determine whether a coded radio is installed. If so, determine the correct coding. Switch ignition off and disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap. Remove bolts (arrows) and remove engine covers -A- and -B-. Remove cover above air filter. Remove plenum cover. Remove sound-proofing material (arrows). Remove bracket for sound-proofing at unit support. Drain engine coolant => page 19-19 Remove front bumper: => Repair Manual, Body Exterior, Repair Group 63 Remove lock carrier: => Repair Manual, Body Exterior, Repair Group 50 Remove viscous fan counter-hold using 3212 spanner wrench. Note: The viscous fan has a left-handed thread. Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt To loosen ribbed belt, turn clockwise using 17 mm box wrench until two holes are aligned (arrow). Counter-hold in position using 3204 drift. Note: Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt. Reversing the direction in which it runs can ruin it. Remove ribbed belt. Cut coolant hoses -1- and -2- Remove coolant reservoir (arrows). Disconnect connector for coolant level display. Remove valve cover (cylinder bank 4-6).
