Remove the tweeter speakers and the stereo cassette AM/FM radio. Refer to Section 9F, Audio Systems. Remove the screws and the instrument panel storage compartment. Remove the instrument cluster dimmer switch assembly. Remove the instrument cluster. Remove the chime module. Remove the kick panels. Remove the glove box. Remove the screws and the glove box housing. Disconnect the glove box housing electrical connectors. Remove the knee bolster. 14. Remove the nuts and the bolts securing the steering column. 15. Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors. 16. Lower the steering column. 17. Remove the screw behind the stereo cassette AM/FM radio. 18. Remove the screw securing the instrument panel to the heater air distributor case. 19. Remove the bolts and the glove box brace. 20. Remove the instrument panel screw behind the glove box brace. 21. Remove the instrument panel bolts below the windshield. 22. Remove the bolts securing the bottom of the instrument panel to the floor. 23. Remove the bolts securing the sides of the instrument panel to the body.

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts. 1. While holding the lower glove box (A), release the damper (B) and remove the glove box stop (C) on each side. 2. Remove the bolts, then remove the lower glove box (A). 3. Install the lower glove box in the reverse order of removal. NOTE: Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts. 1. Remove the lower glove box. 2. Remove the bolt and lower grove box damper (A). 3. Install the damper in the reverse order of removal.

2001–2003 3.2 Acura CL Blower Motor Does Not Work

SYMPTOM The blower motor does not work at all. PROBABLE CAUSE Poor connection at the blower motor caused by tension on the wiring harness. CORRECTIVE ACTION Install a blower motor sub harness. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Remove the glove box and cover: • 1999–03 3.2 TL: See page 20-66 of the 1999–03 3.2 TL Service Manual. • 2001–03 3.2 CL: See page 20-64 of the 2001–03 3.2 CL Service Manual. • Online, enter keyword GLOVE, and select Glove Box Removal/Installation from the list. 2. Disconnect the brown 7P connector (C202) from the main harness. Remove the YEL/BLK wire terminal from cavity 3 of connector C202. Cut off the terminal, and tape the remaining end of the wire to the harness. NOTE: If necessary, refer to the terminal replacement section of the appropriate ETM for how to properly remove a terminal from a connector.

SERVICE PROCEDURE Steering Column Positioning Bracket Fasteners Torque Check 1. Pull the driver side front door seal loose in the area shown in Figure 1. 2. Remove the front pillar lower finisher. • Use a plastic trim tool as needed. 3. Remove the two screws show in Figure 2. 4. Pull the lower instrument panel LH to snap it loose. 5. Disconnect the electrical connectors shown in Figure 4. 6. Perform a torque check on the steering column fasteners (3 nuts and 1 bolt) shown in Figure 5. a. Set the torque wrench to 16.7 N•m (1.7 kg-m, 12 ft-lb). b. Look under the dash and locate the fasteners. c. Torque the nuts and bolt in the order shown in Figure 5. 7. Reinstall all parts removed in reverse order. Passenger Air Bag Fasteners Torque Check 8. Snap loose the top of the lower dash finisher. • Use a plastic trim tool as needed. • Snap the finisher loose at the top only. It does not need to be completely removed. 9. Pull the passenger side front door seal loose in the area shown in Figure 7. 10. Remove the front pillar lower finisher. • Use a plastic trim tool as needed. 11. Remove the 3 screw shown in Figure 8. 12. Open the upper and lower glove boxes and remove the 2 screws shown in Figure 9. 13. Remove the lower glove box. 14. Remove the 4 screws shown in Figure 10. 15. Remove the upper glove box. NOTE: The passenger air bag is located under the dash behind the upper glove box.

Fig.17 Center Dash Bezel. 1. Remove ash tray, then six center cluster bezel screws and center bezel. 2. Remove two screws holding dash pad located behind top of center bezel, then gently pry defroster grille out of dash pad. Fig.18 Dash Pad & Instrument Cluster. 3. 4. 5. 6. Disconnect sensors, if equipped, and set defroster grille aside. Remove four screws in defroster duct opening holding dash pad. Remove three screws above instrument panel cluster, then open glove box and remove two screws holding dash pad. Remove dash pad by pulling up to unsnap end clips. If dash switch pod removal is necessary, proceed as follows: a. Remove one screw from left side, near driver’s door, of the lower trim panel. b. Remove one screw from bottom of lower trim panel, then pull panel off. c. Remove four screws holding steering column cover, then three screws holding bottom of bezels. d. Remove two screws retaining top of end and switch pod bezels, then remove the bezel. e. Remove two screws holding left side of switch pod and three screws on the RH side of switch pod bezel. f. Pull switch pod bezel out to remove switch connectors, then disconnect connectors from each switch pod and remove bezel. g. Remove switch retaining screws, then the switch. 7. Remove three screws from top of cluster, then lift cluster up to allow access to connectors. 8. Disconnect connector and remove cluster. 9. Reverse procedure to install.
