1. Remove the heater air plenum chamber (18471) assembly as outlined. 2. Remove the four retaining screws from the heater core cover (18B300) and remove the heater core cover from the heater air plenum chamber assembly. Heater Core Removal 3. Pull the heater core (18476) assembly from the heater air plenum chamber assembly. Installation 1. Carefully install heater core assembly into the heater air plenum chamber assembly. Visually check to ensure that heater core case seal (18658) is properly positioned. 2. Position the heater core cover and install the four retaining screws. 3. Install the heater air plenum chamber assembly as outlined. Heater Air Plenum Chamber Removal 1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01. 2. Disconnect the heater water hoses (18472) from the heater core tubes. Plug the ends of the heater water hoses to prevent coolant loss. 3. Plug heater core tubes securely to prevent coolant leakage from heater core (18476) during heater air plenum chamber removal. 4. Remove three nuts located below the windshield wiper motor (17508) retaining the LH end of the heater air plenum chamber (18471) to the dash panel (01610). 5. Remove one nut retaining the upper LH corner of the A/C evaporator core housing (19A559) to the dash panel. 6. Remove LH and RH lower instrument panel insulators. 7. ISSUE Some 2003 F250-550 Super Duty and Excursion vehicles equipped with a 6.0L Powerstroke engine, may exhibit a difficult to remove or replace air filter assembly during service. ACTION The following procedure has been provided to assist with air filter removal or installation during service. SERVICE PROCEDURE Filter Removal 1. Release 4 toggle clamps located on top of assembly (Figure 1). 2. Lift inlet slightly, enough to disengage the 2 tabs on the bottom of the inlet cover from the 2 windows on bottom of the filter inlet, and push it forward toward front of vehicle as shown in Figures 2 and 3. 4. Pull outlet cover up enough to disengage the 2 tabs on the outlet cover and the filters 2 windows located at the bottom of the clean side. At this step, the MAFS may contact the degas bottle while pulling the cover up but this should not create a problem. Push cover slightly away from filter and down as in Figure 5. 5. Pull filter upward to disengage its 2 legs from grommets (Figure 6). It is easiest to rock the filter forward/aft while pulling it up. Filter Installation 1. Use the guide on the filter to align its legs to the grommet during its installation as shown in Figure 7, making sure filter is fully seated on the cradle. 2. Attach inlet cover to filter using the 2 clamps on inlet side, making sure that tabs are seated inside the windows (Figure 8).

When making the connections as detailed above, the Sorento RHD Wiring Diagram Manual (Pt No A3EE-EG 20A) must be available to confirm that the correct Connector, Pin Number and wire colour is identified before connection takes place. Installation Note: Prior to commencing the installation of the alarm system, ensure that the contents are complete and that you are fully conversant with the splicing and soldering technique shown on the previous pages. Trim Removal L/H (N/S) Kick Well Panel L/H (N/S)Dashboard Side Panel Steering Column Upper Housing R/H (O/S) “A” Post Trim Panel L/H (N/S) “A” Post Trim Panel Remove the two M6 nuts securing the main grommet retaining shroud. Remove the insulating tape from the rubber truncking and the main harness to allow access through the trunking into the grommet. Note: Do NOT include the bonnet switch wire when feeding the alarm harness through the trunking Feeding the alarm harness into the car via the main grommet will require great care as space is restricted. Therefore, tape the end of the alarm harness, including connectors, to a suitable pilot feeder. A stiff coat hanger can be used but you MUST ensure the end to be fed into the grommet is bent over and tapped to prevent damage to the main harness when feeding through the mai 9 grommet.
