Headlamp Assembly NOTE: Make sure the headlamp switch and ignition switch are in the OFF position. 1. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps. Component Radiator grille opening cover Radiator sight shield Headlamp assembly 2. View 1 of 2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. 3. View 2 of 2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. 4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Item 2: Radiator Grille Opening Cover Removal Note 1. Position the ambient air temperature sensor aside. Item 6: Standard Headlamp Disassembly Note 1. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps. Component Low beam bulb High beam bulb Side marker module 2. Disassemble the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. Steps 1-2, 4-5 6-7, 9-10 11-14 3. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure. Items 5 and 10: Low and High Beam Bulb Removal Note WARNING: The headlamp bulb contains gas under pressure. The bulb may shatter if the glass envelope is scratched or if the bulb is dropped. Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass envelope. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury. 1. The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp until just before a new bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp with the bulb removed from the leadlamp. Item 6: HID Headlamp Disassembly Note 1. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps. Component HID ballast and bulb 1-2, 4-7, 9-11 High beam bulb Side marker module 2. Disassemble the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. Steps 12-13, 15-16 17-20

WARNING: A transient high tension (25,000 V) occurs at the bulb sockets of the high intensity discharge (HID) lamps when the combination light switch is turned ON. It may cause serious electrical shock or electrocution if you do not observe the cautions below. CAUTION: – Never turn on the combination light switch before fitting the HID bulbs to their bulb sockets and completing the reassembly of the headlight assembly. – Do not service the headlights assembly in wet conditions, such as rain or snow, near a sprinkler system, or when your hands are wet to prevent electrocution. – Do not touch the surface of the HID bulbs with your bare hands and do not stain it with any oils and fats. – Do not disassemble the inverter unit and the ignitor unit. – Do not turn on the HID bulb by using a power source other than the battery mounted on your vehicle. 1. 2. 3. 4. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the frequencies for the radio’s preset buttons. Combination light switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect the positive cable. Disconnect the headlight assembly 2P connector.

NOTE: The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp until just before a replacement bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp where they can settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn on the headlamps with the bulb removed from the headlamp. 1. Raise and support the hood. 2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. 3. Remove the headlamp assembly. 1 Raise the headlamp retainers by pushing rearward and pulling up. 2 Disconnect the headlamp electrical connector. 3 Remove the headlamp assembly. INSTALLATION NOTE: Be sure the headlamp assembly is positioned correctly with the alignment pins inserted into the proper holes and onto the ribs of the reinforcement. When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy. 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Adjust the headlamp.

2. Remove the bolts from the headlamp assembly. 3. Lift the headlamp assembly to unseat the tabs on the bottom and the edge of
the fender 7. Remove the headlamp bulb from the housing by rotating the socket counterclockwise, if necessary. 8. Disconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connector, if necessary 9. Remove the park/turn bulb access cover by rotating the cover
counterclockwise, if necessary 1. Gently pull the park/turn bulb from the socket, if necessary.
