Headlamp Assembly NOTE: Make sure the headlamp switch and ignition switch are in the OFF position. 1. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps. Component Radiator grille opening cover Radiator sight shield Headlamp assembly 2. View 1 of 2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. 3. View 2 of 2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. 4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Item 2: Radiator Grille Opening Cover Removal Note 1. Position the ambient air temperature sensor aside. Item 6: Standard Headlamp Disassembly Note 1. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps. Component Low beam bulb High beam bulb Side marker module 2. Disassemble the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. Steps 1-2, 4-5 6-7, 9-10 11-14 3. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure. Items 5 and 10: Low and High Beam Bulb Removal Note WARNING: The headlamp bulb contains gas under pressure. The bulb may shatter if the glass envelope is scratched or if the bulb is dropped. Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass envelope. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury. 1. The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp until just before a new bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp with the bulb removed from the leadlamp. Item 6: HID Headlamp Disassembly Note 1. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps. Component HID ballast and bulb 1-2, 4-7, 9-11 High beam bulb Side marker module 2. Disassemble the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. Steps 12-13, 15-16 17-20

DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS Use the recorded results from the LCM self-test. Are any DTCs retrieved? Yes If DTC B1470 is retrieved, GO to GO to C8 . If DTC B1342 is retrieved, CLEAR DTC and CARRY OUT LCM On-Demand Self-Test. INSTALL a new LCM if DTC B1342 is retrieved again. REFER to Section 419-10. TEST the system for normal operation. If other DTC(s) is (are) retrieved, RETURN to the LCM Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index. No If only the autolamps are inoperative, GO to Pinpoint Test I. Otherwise, GO to C2 . Trigger the LCM active command HEAD/CORNERING LAMP CONTROL LOW BEAM. Do the headlamps turn ON? Yes GO to C3. No GO to C5. Monitor the LCM PID HDLMPSW while turning the headlamp switch to the headlamps ON position. Does the PID display ON? Yes INSTALL a new LCM; REFER to Section 419-10. TEST the system for normal operation. No GO to C4. Check the headlamp switch; refer to the Wiring Diagrams Cell 149. Is the headlamp switch OK? Yes REPAIR circuit 1033 (RD/YE) for open. TEST the system for normal operation. No INSTALL a new headlamp switch. REFER to Lamp Switch—Headlamp in this section. TEST the system for normal operation. C5 CHECK CIRCUIT 221 (OG/WH) FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE

Removal NOTICE: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage to the module may result. NOTE: Prior to the replacement of the module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to a scan tool. This information must be downloaded into the new Smart Junction Box (SJB) after installation. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01 to carry out Programmable Module Installation (PMI). NOTE: For the SJB to accept the PMI procedure, the following conditions must be met: The headlamp switch must be in the OFF position (must not be in the AUTOLAMP position, if equipped) The key must be in the ON position The driver door must be open The doors must be unlocked electronically by pressing the door lock control switch to the UNLOCK position momentarily Failure to follow this procedure will result in the PMI procedure to fail. NOTE: The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) functionality is integral to the SJB. NOTE: A new SJB is delivered in a “manufacturing mode” with 7 pre-set DTCs. A successful configuration of the SJB, then a successful TPMS sensor training, then a successful self-test including the clearing of all DTCs is required in order to clear the 7 pre-set manufacturing mode DTCs. The 7 manufacturing mode DTCs are: B106D (Tire Pressure Monitor System [TPMS] Initiators Not Configured) This DTC is present when the SJB is not configured, even on applications that are not equipped with initiators. B2477 (Module Configuration Failure) B2868 (Left Front Tire Pressure Sensor Fault) B2869 (Right Front Tire Pressure Sensor Fault) B2870 (Right Rear Tire Pressure Sensor Fault) B2871 (Left Rear Tire Pressure Sensor Fault) C2780 (ECU in Manufacturer Sub-State) 1. NOTE: This step is only necessary if the SJB is being replaced. Upload the module configuration information from the SJB into the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01. 2. Turn the key to the OFF position. 3. Remove the RH cowl panel side trim. 4. Disconnect the 7 electrical connectors. 5. Remove the 2 bolts and the SJB. Installation 1. Position the SJB and install the 2 bolts. Tighten the bolts to 2 Nm (18 lb-in). 2. Connect the 7 SJB electrical connectors. 3. NOTE: If the SJB is not being replaced, this is the last step that is necessary.

The daytime running lights (DRL) relay is controlled by the body control module (BCM). Battery positive voltage is applied to the relay coil at all times. The BCM grounds the DRL relay control circuit in order to turn ON the DRL relay. When the DRL relay control circuit becomes shorted to ground or the DRLs remain illuminated without being commanded on by the BCM, DTC B2601 is set. CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC ^ The ignition switch is in the ON position. ^ The headlamp switch is in the off position. ^ The transaxle is in park. CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC All of the following conditions must be met: ^ The BCM is not commanding the DRL relay on. ^ The headlamp feedback is present for 5 seconds. ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS ^ The BCM disables the DRL relay control as long as the malfunction is present. ^ The SERVICE indicator illuminates

REMOVAL PROCEDURE 1. Remove the left hand instrument panel accessory trim plate (3). 2. Remove the headlamp switch bolts (2) 3. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector (1) from the headlamp switch (4). 4. Disconnect the dimmer switch connector (5) from the headlamp switch (4). INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Connect the dimmer switch connector (5) to the headlamp switch (4). 2. Connect the headlamp switch connector (1) to the headlamp switch (4). NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. 3. Install the headlamp switch bolts (2). Tighten Tighten the headlamp switch bolts (2) to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in). 4. Install the left hand instrument panel accessory trim plate (3).
