1) Remove covers on both sides of hatch. (below) 2) Use a 10mm socket (with extension) to remove the nuts that secure the rear tail lamps. (right) 3) Remove both of the rear tail lamps. This may require a small amount of force as there are plastic ball/socket joints that hold the lamps in place. Once the lamps are free, disconnect the wiring harnesses from the bulb sockets. (right) 4) Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the large fasteners that secure the rear bumper underneath the car. They are somewhat difficult to remove. Tests/Procedures: Potential Causes: 1. Verify the fluid is full and there is good pressure being produced by the power steering pump. In some cases gauges may need to be used to determine there is good pressure in the system. 2. Verify the fluid is not foaming, if the fluid is foaming look for a suction side leak in the system or a restriction in the power steering system. Some systems have filters in the power steering reservoir that can plug and become a restriction. 3. Verify the U-joints on the steering shaft are free and not binding causing the problem.
