Rotate crankshaft in direction of rotation to 14o + 0.5o (arrow) after ignition TDC of cylinder 1 Unscrew central securing bolt (40/3) Remove chain tensioner Unplug socket of injection pump (Y23/1) at plug connection Unbolt engine wiring harness (1) at oil filter housing Unplug connector at electronic IFI shutoff (Y1/1) Detach fuel lines (arrows) at the injection pump Unscrew bolt (10/3) Unscrew bolts (10/1) Slacken bolt (30/1) of start of delivery setting device Remove injection pump (10) Replace O-rings (10/4) Install in the reverse order Inspect start of delivery Set start of delivery Injection pump, unit pump, high pressure pump Designation Central bolt for attaching injection pump Bolt of injection pump bracket at rear to engine block Bolt of injection pump front M8 Screw plug to governor housing

2. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter housing. 3. Loosen the oil cooler outlet (1) and the inlet (2) lines from engine block. See Fig. 16 . 4. Lower the vehicle. 5. Remove the intake plenum. See INTAKE PLENUM . 6. Remove the intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD & SPACER . 7. Disconnect the following electrical connectors from the water crossover: The engine coolant temperature sender (2). The engine coolant temperature sensor (4). See Fig. 17 . 8. Remove the water crossover bolts (1). 9. Remove the water crossover upper and lower seals (2). See Fig. 18 .
