Turn OFF the ignition. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Remove the air intake pipe from the turbocharger. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the boost pressure sensor (3). Remove the nut (4) retaining the boost pressure sensor bracket and the coolant tube. Lift the coolant tube (1) off of the stud and move it out of the way. 7. Remove the boost pressure sensor (2) and the bracket (1) from the intake manifold. 8. Remove the bracket from the sensor. 9. Inspect the boost pressure sensor seal for damage and replace as necessary. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Position the bracket (1) over the sensor (2). 2. Install the boost pressure sensor into the intake manifold and guide the bracket over the stud. 3. Position the coolant tube (1) over the stud. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. 4. Install the retaining bolt (4). Tighten Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in). 5. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the boost pressure sensor (3). 6. Install the air intake pipe to the turbocharger. 7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.

Removal Procedure 1. Loosen the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover. 2. Remove the upper intake manifold cover from the outlet duct. 3. Remove the upper intake manifold cover. Fig. 105: Upper Intake Manifold Cover 6. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement – Upper (W/O M74) or Fan Shroud Replacement – Upper (W/M74) . Remove the drive belt. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch electrical connector. Disconnect the A/C cut out switch electrical connector. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bolts. Move the A/C compressor with the hoses attached to the right side of the engine compartment.

Removal Procedure 1. Loosen the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover. 2. Remove the upper intake manifold cover from the outlet duct. 3. Remove the upper intake manifold cover. 4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (with HP2) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (without HP2). 5. Disconnect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement – Upper (W/O M74) or Fan Shroud Replacement – Upper (W/M74) or Fan Shroud Replacement – Upper (W/HP2). Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical – 6.6L.
