Removal 1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301) . 2. Remove front door trim panel . Refer to Section 01-05. 3. Remove outside rear view mirror inside mounting hole cover (17K709) from front door trim panel . 4. Disconnect outside rear view mirror assembly wiring connector and remove necessary wiring guides. 5. Remove plug button and remove the three mirror retaining nuts. Remove the outside rear view mirror while guiding the wiring and connector through the hole in the door. Installation 1. Install the outside rear view mirror assembly by routing the connector and wiring through the hole in the door and attach with three retaining nuts. Tighten to 4.5- 6.3 Nm (40-55 lb-in). Install plug button. 2. Connect mirror wiring connector and install wiring guides. 3. Install mirror outside rear view mirror inside mounting hole cover (snaps in). 4. Install front door trim panel . Refer to Section 01-05. 5. Connect battery ground cable. Glass, Outside Mirror Removal 1. Rotate outside rear view mirror glass to maximum upward travel. CAUTION: Use a piece of clean rag or similar material placed on the mirror shell to protect it from damage while removing the glass. 2. Insert a flat blade screwdriver between mirror shell and glass on bottom edge approximately one inch from inside corner at point A. 3. Place hand over outside rear view mirror glass to keep it from falling out and apply downward force on screwdriver until a snap is heard and glass is loose. 4. If glass is not loose, perform Steps 2 and 3 at point B.

Outside Rear View, Manual Removal 1. Remove the front door trim panel; refer to Section 501-05 . 2. Remove the rear view mirror mounting hole cover (17K709). 3. Remove the outside rear view mirror. 1. Remove the three outside rear view mirror nuts. 2. Remove the outside rear view mirror. Installation 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Outside Rear View, Power Removal 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301). 2. Remove the front door trim panel; refer to Section 501-05 . 3. Remove the outside rear view mirror trim cover. 4. Remove the outside rear view mirror. 1. Disconnect the power mirror electrical connector. 2. Disconnect the power mirror wiring clips. 3. Remove the three outside rear view mirror nuts. 4. Remove the outside rear view mirror. Feed the power mirror wiring through the opening in the front door (20124). Installation 1. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the front door trim panel (23942). Refer to Section 01-05. Peel back the water shield if necessary to gain access to the mirror wiring connector. 2. Disconnect the wiring connector. Remove rear view mirror mounting hole cover (17K709) located above the front door trim panel (inside window sail cover) by using a flat blade screwdriver to carefully pry off. 3. Remove the three nuts retaining the outside rear view mirror (17682) to the front door (20124). 4. Pull outside rear view mirror away from the front door while guiding the wiring out of the front door. 5. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten nuts to 6-8 Nm (54-70 lb-in). Glass, Outside Mirror Removal NOTE: Power mirror and manual mirror glass replacement procedure ar similar. 1. Push in on the bottom of the glass until it stops. 2. Protect the mirror body with a rag or similar material at the top and insert a flat blade screwdriver between the mirror body and glass. 3. Pry on the glass until it snaps loose from motor assembly. Disconnect the heater wires from the glass, if equipped. 4. Remove the screwdriver and continue to pull the glass by hand until it is completely unsnapped from the motor assembly. Installation 1. Make sure the rubber gasket on the motor is properly installed on the motor assembly. 2. Reconnect heater wires to glass. 3. Position the glass assembly in the mirror, and push on the center of the glass to snap it in place. Push on glass until it is fully seated. Trim Cover Removal and Installation 1. Remove the rear view mirror mounting hole cover, located above the front door trim panel by using a flat blade screwdriver to carefully pry off. Care should be taken not to scratch paint. 2. To install, snap rear view mirror mounting hole cover into place. Be careful not to damage clips. Mirror Control Removal and Installation 1. Remove driver front door trim panel with mirror switch pigtail still attached to harness. 2. Reach around front door trim panel and disconnect switch harness from the main wire harness. 3. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, pry the outside rear view mirror control switch up from the front door trim panel. 4. Remove outside rear view mirror control (17B676).

Special Tools Required KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 Trim pad remover, Snap-on A 177A or equivalent, commercially available NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. 1. Lower the glass fully. 2. Using the appropriate trim tool, pry out on the rear portion of the cover (A) to release the hooks (B, C), then remove the cover and the screws securing the inner handle (D). 3. Remove the power window switch panel (A). -1 Using the appropriate trim tool pry up on the rear edge of the switch panel tape to release the rear clip. -2 Pull out along the edge of the panel to release the hooks (B) and front clip. -3 Disconnect the power mirror switch connector (C) (driver’s) and the power window switch connector (D). Driver’s 4. Remove the door panel (A) with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it. -1 Remove the screws (B). -2 Use a commercially available trim pad remover (C) to detach the clips (D).

1. Remove the door command center enough to gain access to the electrical connectors. NOTE : The left front door with power windows and power mirror is shown. The other doors and vehicles without power windows or power mirrors are similar.2. Disconnect the electrical connectors. 3. Remove the door command center.4. Release the front and back retaining clips on the door lock control switch and remove the switch. INSTALLATION 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
