1) Remove covers on both sides of hatch. (below) 2) Use a 10mm socket (with extension) to remove the nuts that secure the rear tail lamps. (right) 3) Remove both of the rear tail lamps. This may require a small amount of force as there are plastic ball/socket joints that hold the lamps in place. Once the lamps are free, disconnect the wiring harnesses from the bulb sockets. (right) 4) Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the large fasteners that secure the rear bumper underneath the car. They are somewhat difficult to remove. (left) 5) Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the rear bumper to the fenders. The screws are just above the wheel where the rear bumper meets the fender. (right) 6) Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the rear bumper to the wheel well liner. The screws are underneath the car at the very rear of the wheel wells. (left)

1. Assemble Jack Handle and Lower Spare Tire. (a) Remove the tool bag from the storage location (Fig. 3-1 on page 3) (b) Assemble the jack handle (3) and extensions rods (1 & 2) (Fig. 1-1). (c) Insert the square end of the extension rod through the access hole in the bumper and into the lowering screw (Fig. 1-2). (d) Turn counterclockwise making sure the jack handle remains firmly fitted to the extension rods. (e) Lower the tire partially from the vehicle to a suitable height allowing access to the lowering screw. (1) Ensure the wheel is safely supported in that position to prevent the spare tire from swaying during the spare tire lock installation. 2. Spare Tire Lock Installation. (a) Install the spare tire lock assembly into the lowering screw (Fig. 2-1). (1) Line up the cross pin on the spare tire lock with the slot on the lowering screw. Press the spare tire lock in place until fully seated into the bottom of the lowering screw. (b) Assemble the key assembly onto the hooked extension rod (Fig. 2-2). (c) Insert the extension rod with key through the access hole in the rear bumper (Fig. 2-3). (d) Rotate key in the lock assembly until the lock and key patterns engage. (e) Turn the jack handle clockwise making sure that the jack handle remains firmly fitted to the extension rod raising the tire until it is stowed in its original position. 3. Installation Completion (a) Disassemble the extension rod and key. (b) Place the key into the tool bag and stow with jack in the vehicle storage area (Fig. 3-1). (c) Place the ID card, order form, customer notice card and instruction sheet in the McGard envelope. (d) Place the envelope into the glove compartment.

2. Remove Existing Exhaust System. (a) Remove two bolts with springs from front flange located between catalytic converter and rear muffler. (Fig. 2-1) (b) Keep all original equipment (OE) bolts and springs. (Fig. 2-1) (1) Ensure that the original gasket remains on converter assembly flange NOTE: For DIO, installation gasket must be replaced – P/N 17451-74051. (c) Remove and discard two bolts from rear flange located between muffler assembly and rear tailpipe assembly. (Fig 2-2) (d) Pry the rear tailpipe exhaust bracket loose from the rubber hanger located near the rear bumper. (Fig. 2-3) (e) Remove the OE rear tailpipe assembly from the vehicle. Pry the two front muffler exhaust brackets loose from the rubber hangers. (Fig. 2-4) (g) Pry the two rear muffler exhaust brackets loose from the rubber hangers. (Fig 2-5) NOTE: Use of lubrication (such as “soap and water”) on the rubber exhaust hangers can facilitate removal and installation of rubber hangers. (h) Do not remove the five (5) original (OE) rubber hangers from the vehicle. (i) Remove the OE muffler assembly from the vehicle. 3. Installation of TRD Exhaust System. (a) Connect the two front muffler hangers of the TRD muffler assembly to OE rubber hangers. (Fig. 3-1)

1. Clean Mudguard Mounting Areas. (a) Clean and degrease front and rear body panels where mudguard is to be located using 3MTM Prepsolvent-70. 2. Installation of Front Mudguards. (a) Put the front mudguard in place and install the grommet into the lower mounting hole (one location). (Fig. 2-1) (b) Secure the front mudguard to the inner panel using the tapping screws (four locations). (Fig. 2-1) NOTE: Turn the steering wheel to make it easier to work inside the wheel well. When tightening the screws, push the front mud guard onto the inner panel to remove the gap between the front mud guard and the inner panel. (c) Fully tighten the tapping screws so that they will not become loose. 3. Installation of Rear Mudguards. (a) Remove the screws and tapping screws securing the rear bumper to the inner panel. (Fig. 3-1) Screw (hexagonal): One location Tapping screw: One location

1. Prepare for Installation. (a) Verify kit contents (b) Wear safety glasses. (c) Raise vehicle. (d) Caution muffler might be hot NOTE: Apply masking tape to quarter panels above the bumper fascia. To prevent damage when removing the bumper fascia, apply masking tape on the underside of the bottom left- hand corner of the door and left hand upper corner of door. (Fig. 1-1) 2. Prepare Vehicle for Rear Bumper Fascia Removal. (a) Open rear door (Fig. 2-1). (b) Protect exhaust tip with a rag or protective tape during installation of hitch. (Fig. 2-1) NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with proximity sensors, detach the sensor wire connector from inside the fascia, behind the rear wheels on both sides of the vehicle (Fig. 2-2). 3. Remove Rear Bumper Fascia. NOTE: Protect rear bumper to prevent damage from tools (i.e. air tools) when removing the fascia bolts. (a) Remove the 13 6 mm hex head bolts (A) from rear bumper fascia. (Fig. 3-1) (b) Remove one (1) push pin (B) from fascia (Fig. 3-1) (c) Unsnap the sides of the fascia from the vehicle. (Fig. 3-2) (d) With one person on each end, remove fascia from vehicle. Store in a safe place to avoid damage during installation. (Fig. 3-2) 4. Install Hitch. (a) Install one (1) M12 x 45 bolt into the 13 mm hole as shown (Bolt 1). (Fig. 4-1) (b) Install two (2) M12 x 45 bolts in the lower slots (Bolts 2 & 3). (Fig. 4-1) (c) Install three (3) M12 x 45 bolts in the 15mm holes (Bolts 4 to 6). (Fig. 4-1)
