VEHICLE PREPARATION 1. REMOVE ING EIGHT 2. DISCONNECT THE LATCH BY UNSNAPPING THE FOUR PURPLE CLIPS. 3. REMOVE TO THE TAILGATE AND REMOVE THE LATCH. CAMERA INSTALLATION 1. CUT OUT THE CAMERA HOLE DRILLING TEMPLATE ON PAGE 5 OF THIS MANUAL. AFFIX IT TO THE TAIL GATE LATCH AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 5. DRILL A 1/4” PILOT HOLE AND THEN ENLARGE IT TO 1-1/16”. CLEAN AND DE-BURR THE HOLE. 2. INSERT REARSIGHT CAMERA INTO THE HOLE TO CHECK DO NOT REMOVE THE LINING ON THE TAPE OF THE CAMERA SHROUD YET. IF THE CAMERA WON’T FIT FLUSH WITH THE LATCH, USE A KNIFE TO CHAMFER THE INNER EDGE OF THE HOLE SO THAT THE CAMERA WILL FIT. CLEAN THE OUTSIDE AREA AROUND THE HOLE WITH THE THE FOR FITMENT. CONNECT THE CAMERA HARNESS TO THE TAIL- GATE INTERFACE HARNESS BY SCREWING THE TWO CONNEC- TORS TOGETHER. SECURE THE CONNECTOR TO THE TAIL- GATE WITH FOAM TAPE TO PREVENT RATTLES. REMOVE THE DUMMY PLUG FIRST, AND PLACE ERA CONNECTOR IT IN THE SUPPLIED PLASTIC RESEALABLE BAG ALONG WITH THE TAILGATE REMOVAL WARNING CARD. 1. Remove tailgate cover 5. Slide bracket into tailgate over studs 9. Connect actuator to loom and use cable tie/clip to secure cable. 2. Remove nut 6. Replace both nuts 3. Remove nut 7. Remove cable cover 11. Run the cable along the chassis, taking care to ensure it is kept away from heat sources. 12. Bring the cable through the grommet located under the passen- ger seat. 13. Remove the door sill trim from the passenger side front door. 14. Connect the wires as follows. TruckLok Vehicle Red Blue 4. Slide bracket into tailgate 8. Feed cable through grommet 15. Close all doors and test using vehicle’s key. Do not test repeatedly as the actuator may overheat. 16. Replace all trim and tailgate cover.

SYMPTOM The key will not go into the door lock cylinder, or if it goes in, it will not turn. PROBABLE CAUSE The door lock tumblers are damaged or worn. CORRECTIVE ACTION Remove the door lock cylinder, and replace the inner cylinder, springs, and tumblers. PARTS INFORMATION Door Lock Cylinder Kit: P/N 06720-S5A-305, H/C 7604499 (Kit contains eight door inner cylinders, two tailgate inner cylinders, and associated parts.) REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Obtain the customer‘s key code from the iN (Key Code Inquiry). Refer to the Honda High Security Key Codes book that comes with the Matrix H key cutting machine. Write down the applicable cutting code for the key code number. Make sure the corrections to the code book listed in Service Bulletin 01-077, Cutting Sidewinder-Type Keys With the Matrix H Key Cutting Machine, have been made. 2. Use the chart below to write down the numbers found in the key code book. H J G F A X E D — — 3. Remove the door panel. Refer to the appropriate service manual or use ISIS keyword Door Panel. 4. Remove the plastic cover as necessary. 5. Raise the window glass fully. 6. Remove the lock cylinder. • For Civic, go to step 7. • For CR-V, go to step 8. • For Element, go to step 11. 7. Pull down on the retainer clip with a hook-shaped tool. Remove the lock cylinder and disconnect the cylinder rod. Then go to step 14.

On Hombre, when door lock switch is activated, doors will lock or unlock in unison. Actuators receive voltage from door lock relay which applies voltage to one of the terminals, and ground to the other. To reverse actuators, the polarity to terminals is reversed. Circuit breaker protects against damage and resets after voltage is removed. On Amigo, Rodeo and Trooper, system components consist of a door lock control unit (located in driver’s door lock/power window switch), door lock actuators, door lock switch and tailgate switch (Trooper). Door lock control unit has constant battery voltage. Lock mechanism of all doors (including tailgate) can be activated by using ignition key in driver’s front door, or by using door lock knob. When lock mechanism is activated, current flows from control unit to actuators for about one second.

Opening the Endgate When There Is an Electrical Failure Removal Procedure 1. Lower the end gate window out of the roof rear header seal. 2. Remove the end gate trim panel. 3. Remove the end gate inner reinforcement panel. 4. Locate the manual release lever (1), located on the upper and lower left latches (2). 5. Slide the manual release levers (1) upward to swing open the end gate. 6. Diagnose and repair the end gate latches. Installation Procedure 1. Install the end gate inner reinforcement panel. 2. Install the end gate trim panel. 3. Check for proper operation of the end gate latches and window.
