Introduction The 2011 model year Camry is equipped with a direct-type Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS). Each tire (except the spare tire) has a tire pressure warning valve/sensor that measures tire pressure data. The data is transmitted to the Tire Pressure Warning System antenna/receiver and then to the Tire Pressure Warning System ECU. During Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), the tire pressure warning valves/sensors must be activated for Japan-built vehicles by following the activation procedure in this TSB. NAP-built vehicles do not require activation, but both Japan-built and NAP-built vehicles require the TPWS to be initialized by following the initialization procedure in this TSB. Initialization Procedure NOTE Perform the following initialization procedure for BOTH NAP-built and Japan-built vehicles. 1. Cycle the ignition switch to the “IG–ON” mode and connect TIS techstream. 2. Adjust all tires (except the spare tire) to the standard tire in?ation pressure, as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label located inside the driver’s door jamb and con?rm that the Low Tire Pressure Warning Light is OFF. NOTE To adjust tire pressure correctly when outside temperature is signi?cantly colder or warmer than shop temperature. Follow the procedures outlined in the Tire In?ation Pressure Compensation and Adjustment service bulletin (T-SB-0345-08). NOTE Adjust the tire pressure when the tires are cold. NAP-built: Remove the ID number labels that are attached to each wheel and discard.

ISSUE Some 2005-2007 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit steering wheel oscillation (back and forth motion), immediately following front or rear wheel impacts (i.e. pavement joints, frost heaves, rough roads, etc.). Steering wheel motion is typically in the range of ± 5 degrees, and typically dampens out in fewer than five oscillations. This condition occurs mostly on F-250/F-350 4X4 vehicles, and is more evident on trucks equipped with a gas engine. ACTION Refer to the following Service Procedure to minimize the steering wheel oscillations on impacts, however, there may be some remaining minor oscillation which would be considered normal. SERVICE PROCEDURE SUMMARY 1. Set tire pressure and road test vehicle to evaluate vehicle before proceeding with further repairs. If issue is resolved, do not proceed with the rest of this TSB. 2. If concern still exists, install a new steering damper (frame-mounted bracket and steering damper assembly on F-250/F-350 4X4 applications only). For F-250/F-350 4X2 and all F-450/F-550 applications, inspect damper for leaks and replace if necessary, torque steering and suspension fasteners per Workshop Manual (WSM). 3. If concern still exists, check front alignment and reduce front caster. 4. Replace redundant control steering wheel (if equipped and vehicle built prior to 10/8/2004). VEHICLE INSPECTION – TIRE PRESSURE 1. Set tire pressures as indicated on the vehicle label (located on driver’s door label). STEERING DAMPER INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT AND STEERING/SUSPENSION FASTENER TORQUE CHECK F-250/F-350 4X4 Applications: 1. Remove existing steering damper and frame attachment bracket. 2. Replace steering damper and frame mounting bracket with steering damper and frame bracket. 3. Attach steering damper to frame bracket and torque bolt to 76 lb-ft (103 N•m).

Also, a step has been added to the 1991 Cadillac Eldorado and Seville repair. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 00-03-11-001 (Section 3 – Suspension). Some owners may bring their vehicles in for service with an illuminated service suspension light. The service suspension indicator lamp is telling the owner that the vehicle is due for strut/shock replacement, a maintenance item. The customer may elect to have passive struts installed in their vehicles due to repair cost savings and/or parts availability. The installation of passive shock/struts will result in handling characteristics which are the equal to a like vehicle without the computer controlled ride, with all other components such as tires, tire pressure, springs, etc. being equal. The installation of (4) new passive struts will cause the continued illumination of the service suspension indicator. If desired by the customer, the service indicator may be disabled AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF THE (4) NEW PASSIVE STRUTS, using the appropriate service procedure listed below. This bulletin DOES NOT authorize this procedure unless (4) NEW PASSIVE STRUTS WERE INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE.

Models ‘04 – ‘05 Highlander, RAV4, Sienna, & Solara, ‘05 Scion tC This service bulletin provides the proper procedures for normal maintenance re- initialization of the indirect Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS). When performing service that requires tire rotation or tire replacement, suspension component replacement or alignments, the Tire Pressure Warning System must be re-initialized. During initialization, the Tire Pressure Warning System, located within the ABS or Skid Control ECU, learns the tire sizes from rotational speeds and resonance frequencies.
