1. Assemble Jack Handle and Lower Spare Tire. (a) Remove the tool bag from the storage location (Fig. 3-1 on page 3) (b) Assemble the jack handle (3) and extensions rods (1 & 2) (Fig. 1-1). (c) Insert the square end of the extension rod through the access hole in the bumper and into the lowering screw (Fig. 1-2). (d) Turn counterclockwise making sure the jack handle remains firmly fitted to the extension rods. (e) Lower the tire partially from the vehicle to a suitable height allowing access to the lowering screw. (1) Ensure the wheel is safely supported in that position to prevent the spare tire from swaying during the spare tire lock installation. 2. Spare Tire Lock Installation. (a) Install the spare tire lock assembly into the lowering screw (Fig. 2-1). (1) Line up the cross pin on the spare tire lock with the slot on the lowering screw. Press the spare tire lock in place until fully seated into the bottom of the lowering screw. (b) Assemble the key assembly onto the hooked extension rod (Fig. 2-2). (c) Insert the extension rod with key through the access hole in the rear bumper (Fig. 2-3). (d) Rotate key in the lock assembly until the lock and key patterns engage. (e) Turn the jack handle clockwise making sure that the jack handle remains firmly fitted to the extension rod raising the tire until it is stowed in its original position. 3. Installation Completion (a) Disassemble the extension rod and key. (b) Place the key into the tool bag and stow with jack in the vehicle storage area (Fig. 3-1). (c) Place the ID card, order form, customer notice card and instruction sheet in the McGard envelope. (d) Place the envelope into the glove compartment.

Repair Procedure Removal: 1. Disengage the 4 claws from the sunvisor plastic bracket cover. 2. Remove the plastic bracket cover and set aside for later installation. Figure 2. Repair Procedure (Continued) Removal: (Continued) 3. Carefully pull straight down on the Sunvisor sub-assembly and remove it from the opening in the metal roof panel. NOTE If the attaching clips remain in the metal roof panel, pinch the clip tabs together and rotate away from the connector as shown in Figure 3 (if equipped with a vanity light), then remove the clips and reinstall the clips back into the sunvisor bracket from the direction shown in Figure 4.Repair Procedure (Continued) Installation Procedure: 1. Partially install the bracket cover into the sunvisor bracket making sure both temporary set claws are engaged as shown in Figure 5. NOTE Make sure to ONLY partially install the bracket cover into the bracket during installation, because damage to the clip, sunvisor mount or roof sheet metal tabs may occur if the bracket cover is fully in the sunvisor bracket.

The previous use and service history of the vehicle must always be taken into account. Check For Engine Damage Check For Engine Damage Removal Removal 1. Remove timing belt cover [1]. 2. Turn crankshaft clockwise until timing marks aligned [2]. 3. Ensure timing marks aligned: 1KZ-T/TE: [3]. 1HD-FT/1HD-FTE: [4]. 4. Evenly slacken and remove automatic tensioner unit bolts [5]. 5. Remove: Automatic tensioner unit [6]. Tensioner pulley bolt [7]. Tensioner pulley [8]. Timing belt. Installation Installation 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Check tensioner pulley for smooth operation [8]. Replace if necessary. Remove dust cover. Check tensioner body for leakage or damage [6]. Check pushrod protrusion is 9,0-9,8 mm [9]. Check pushrod does not move when pushed against a firm surface. If pushrod moves: Replace automatic tensioner unit. Slowly compress pushrod into tensioner body until holes aligned. Use press. Retain pushrod with 1,5 mm Allen key through hole in tensioner body [10]. Fit dust cover. Ensure timing marks aligned [2]. Ensure timing marks aligned: 1KZ-T/TE: [3]. 1HD-FT/1HD-FTE: [4]. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. Fit timing belt in anti-clockwise direction, starting at lower sprocket. Ensure belt is taut between sprockets. Fit tensioner pulley [8]. Tighten bolt to 34 Nm [7]. Push tensioner pulley against belt. Install automatic tensioner unit [6]. Tighten bolts evenly to 13 Nm [5]. Remove Allen key from tensioner body to release pushrod. Turn crankshaft two turns clockwise. Ensure timing marks aligned [2] & [3] or [4]. If not: Repeat installation and tensioning procedures. Install components in reverse order of removal. Reset timing belt replacement warning lamp as follows: -Runner/Landcruiser: Remove grommet in speedometer housing. Depress switch using a thin screwdriver [11]. 17. Colorado: Remove speedometer housing. Remove screw indicated and insert in alternative location [12]. 18. Amazon: Lamp illuminates at 90,000 miles. Return vehicle to dealer.

OPERATION BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE Before using the REMOTE ENGINE STARTER to start your vehicle, please be sure of the follow- ing conditions. The shift lever is in the “P” position. (Without Push Start) The key is not inserted in the key cylinder. (With Push Start) The engine can be remotely started regardless of whether the driver has a smart key remote inside or outside the vehicle. All doors are closed. The hood is closed. OPERATION REMOTE ENGINE START (vehicles without Smart Entry System) To start a non-Smart Entry vehicle remotely, press and release the LOCK button twice within two seconds, then press and hold the LOCK button for three seconds. STEP 1. Press and release the LOCK button twice within two seconds. The hazard lights will flash each time. A) Press and release the LOCK button. LOCK TWO SECONDS B) The hazard lights flash once. C) Press and D) The hazard release the lights flash LOCK button again. again. FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY: STEP 2. Press and hold the LOCK button for three seconds. The hazard lights flash once when pressed, then again after three seconds. The engine starts, and the hazard lights flash for 20 seconds.
