The front inside door handle bezel has electrical connectors, the rear does not. 1. Insert a flat bladed tool behind the forward upper edge of the door handle bezel. 2. Gently pry the upper portion of the bezel away from the door trim panel. 3. Pull the bezel forward over the inside door handle. 4. Disconnect the electrical connector. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. 2. 3. 4. Connect the electrical connectors, if any, to the inside door handle bezel. Guide the inside door handle through the opening in the door handle bezel. Snap the door handle bezel into place. Work the rubber around and behind both the manual lock knob and the inside door handle.

Camshaft Removal The camshafts of this engine must be removed/installed with the utmost care. To avoid breaking of camshafts, the loosening and tightening specifications for camshaft bearing caps, as well as the basic setting of camshafts in relation to ignition TDC of cylinder no. 1, must be observed with critical attention. The following repair notes complement the Microfiche Repair Instructions, Engine 104, Mechanical, Group 05, job number 05-220 “Installing/removing camshafts”. Please refer to the microfiche together with this service information. Note :The camshafts must only be installed/removed in the basic position. Basic Position Piston of cylinder no. 1 at ignition TDC. The camshaft setting bores with 4 mm diameter (arrows) touch the upper edge of the cylinder head (both on the outside). Be sure the camshaft timing adjuster is in the retard position. (This is achieved by ensuring the engine is only rotated in the correct direction of rotation, never backwards, throughout the entire procedure) (Figure 1). Figure 2

Installation Note: Regulator handle Install the regulator handle as shown. Note: With door glass at fully-closed position. Adjustment Door glass Adjustment of the door glass (convertible top and detachable hard top) is made as follows: 1. Vertical adjustment of door glass Adjustment procedure Remove the weatherstrip, and check alignment with the door glass in the fully-closed position. (1) Loosen upper stop installation bolts (A). (2) Adjust by moving the upper stop up or down so that the upper edge of the door glass is in the correct position, and then tighten bolts (A). Note: When the door glass is raised, both glass stop must contact the upper stop simultaneously. Before an upper stop is moved for adjustment, lower the door glass slightly.
