1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the wiper arms. 3. Remove the cowl cover. 4. Release the hood latch and open hood. 5. Disconnect the positive lock on the wiper unit wire connector. 6. Disconnect the wiper unit wire connector from the engine compartment wire harness. 7. Disconnect the windshield washer hose from coupling inside unit. 8. Disconnect the drain tubes from nipples on bottom of the wiper unit. 9. Remove nuts holding wiper unit to lower windshield fence. 10. Remove bolts holding the wiper unit to the dash panel. 11. Lift wiper unit from weld-studs on lower windshield fence. CAUTION: Do not allow wiper unit to rest on brake master cylinder reservoir, damage to brake system can result. 12. Remove wiper unit. INSTALLATION For installation, reverse the above procedure.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE 1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions. 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 3. Remove the intake manifold assembly. 4. Remove the fuel injector electrical connectors by pushing in the wire connector clip and pulling the electrical connector away from the fuel injector. 5. Remove the fuel feed inlet pipe at the rail (2). 6. Remove the fuel rail attaching bolts. 7. Lift the fuel rail assembly from the cylinder head. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE IMPORTANT: Lubricate the fuel injector O-rings with clear engine oil before installation. 1. Insert the fuel rail into the cylinder head. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. 2. Install the fuel rail attaching bolts. Tighten Tighten the fuel rail attaching bolts to 24 N.m (18 lbs ft) . 3. Install the fuel feed inlet pipe to the fuel rail (2). IMPORTANT: Rotate the fuel injectors as required to avoid stretching the wire harness. 4. Install the fuel injector electrical connectors. 5. Install the intake manifold assembly. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions. 6. Reconnect negative battery cable. 7. Inspect for fuel leaks through the following steps: 7.1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds . 7.2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds . 7.3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. 7.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.

1. Remove instrument cluster bezel. 2. Remove screws holding instrument cluster to instrument panel. 3. Rotate top of cluster outward. 4. Remove instrument cluster from instrument panel. 5. Disconnect wire connector from back of instrument cluster. 6. Remove instrument cluster. INSTALLATION 1. Place instrument cluster in instrument panel, bottom first. 2. Connect wire connector into back of instrument cluster. 3. Position instrument cluster in instrument panel. 4. Install instrument cluster mounting screws to instrument panel. 5. NOTE: The following procedure is for replacement of an ineffective or damaged driver airbag. If the airbag is ineffective or damaged, but not deployed, review the recommended procedures for handling non-deployed supplemental restraints. If the driver airbag has been deployed, review the recommended procedures for service after a supplemental restraint deployment before removing the airbag from the vehicle. 1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before further service. 2. From the underside of the steering wheel, remove the two screws (3) that secure the driver airbag (1) to the steering wheel armature (2). CAUTION: Do not pull on the horn switch feed pigtail wire to disengage the connector from the driver airbag housing or to disconnect the horn switch to steering wheel wire harness connection. Improper pulling on this pigtail wire or connection can result in damage to the horn switch membrane or feed circuit. 3. Pull the driver airbag (1) away from the steering wheel far enough to access the three electrical connections on the back of the airbag housing. 4. Disconnect the steering wheel wire harness connector for the horn switch (2) from the horn switch feed pigtail wire connector (4), which is located on the back of the driver airbag housing.
